Hi everyone! I'm pretty new here! Today is 1 week post op for me. Everything is going good so far... Just bored with the broth, Decaf tea, and Water. I found on you tube a clear liquid recipe for apple pie in a mug. It consist of apple juice, drop of honey, drop of vanilla, and a pinch of cinnamon. Has anyone tried this? Do you think it ok?

I would stick with a low sugar apple juice. I use Mott's for Tots. (When you start getting more nutrition, try to phase out the juice) Pre op, i would have chosen honey over "sweeteners," but I was told to avoid honey now, as it is...sugar...basically. I use Truvia now, since it's safer than other artificial sweeteners. I know the clear extracts should be fine, not sure about the cinnamon. It is powdery and does not dissolve, so might not be a good idea. I don't know if any of that helps you or not. Clears are VERY hard to get through, but remember it's not this way forever. You can do it!!! :)

Today I made a warm spiced apple juice- added cinnamon sticks, cloves, whole allspice. Cooked it about 15 minutes on low heat and strained it. I am on my 7th day of clears and so ready for the next phase!!!

I'm so not creative. I didn't even realize apple juice was ok until today. I have my first appointment /1 hour class with the NUT tomorrow. I have literally been on chicken broth, camomile tea, and Water since last Tuesday. I was so bored. Apple juice changes things up :-) lol

I lived on SF popsicles for the first 2, almost 3 weeks... Even while I was supposed to be trying to work in solids and mushies and purees, everything hurt.

Listen to your body and when in doubt, call your Dr.

Welcome to the losers bench!

G2 or propel Water is a good choice as they have Vitamins in them. Juices are good too. I am almost 4 weeks out and am still on full liquids. Can't wait for mushies and then actual food I can chew!

Oh they gave you juice at the hospital?!?! I was just given Decaf tea, broth, and Water so I guess I was just trying to follow what they gave me. But happy to add a little bit of juice now. I guess I will learn more tomorrow from the NUT.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
