Bowel Movement, There I Said It

Ok I am embarrassed to asked this but I must cause I hate calling my doctor all this time. So prior to my sleeve 2/8 (post op week 3) yay! I had suffered from constipation. I would take these herbal pill and I would go, problem solved. But now my doctor recommeded I take Metamucil (which I have been everyday) and guess what I am still constipated. I can feel it and I hate it. Does anyone else have this problem? If so any recommendations?

  • I haven't had the sleeve yet, but Metamucil never helps me. I have chronic constipation. I find liquid fish oil (odorless lemon flavor) does the trick. I take 6000 mg everyday. And I go 1 time/ day

  • I'm glad you asked the forum. That's what it's for! I was lucky enough not to have a constipation problem. I wish I had some good advice for you. Perhaps the others will have more good feedback fo

  • Milk of Magnesium is the VERY best! It's very effective without cramping. Benefiber, metamucil and fiber gummies never worked for me.

Sorry hit the button to soon. 6 days post op and no movement. For someone who was always regular, 5 days (even if not much is in there) feels very uncomfortable.

Walking makes the ole bowels move. Sometimes I barely make it home after a two mile walk.

Glycerin suppositories! Holy **** - LITERALLY!

The best... and they work FAST!!

Another thing that works pretty fast- 3 OTC Colace tabs before bed, then 3 more about 12-14 hours later. Make sure you have your calendar cleared for the day. And some diaper rash cream handy. Trust me on this.

I had tried pretty much everything and I still dealing with constipation. Now I am increasing my water to see of that helps but to be honest sometimes even the exercise works lol Yeah the movement here and there, you can try to walk for at least 1 hour and see if that helps :)
