I'm scheduled with Dr. James Davidson on March 28th in Dallas. He is head of Bariatrics at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas and I was referred to him by a neighbor who had the procedure several years ago. :D

I heard of really negative things (horrible bedside manner specially) about Dr. Kim I think he is in Dallas/plano area. When I considered doing my surgery around here I researched Dr. Smith in Fort Worth, he bariatric surgery himself several years ago and I heard he was great. I am having my surgery in Mexico by a great surgeon in May.

Definitely recommend Dr. James Davidson in Dallas now that I'm post op with no complications! I was referred to him by 2 other friends here in Dallas who used him 3 years ago. One of my friends' dad is a top plastic surgeon in Dallas and this is who he referred his daughter to use when she decided on the surgery. I'm not sure if you are part of the christian sleever group, but I have never felt more at peace with my decision that right Before the surgery when Dr. Davidson came in and asked if we could pray together before anesthesia arrived. He took my hand and thanked God for so many things, then asked God for guidance and a quick recovery for myself and my family. I could not have been any more calm and relaxed knowing this surgeon has a personal relationship with the Lord and understands what a big decision this is for people like us. Smooth as could be, anesthesia came in and they started 5 minutes later! Arrived home yesterday, walked two miles today and I am completely off pain meds already 3 days post op! I couldn't be happier!

Hey TxMimi, I'm in Benbrook and I'm using Dr Stowers, he is in Decatur but has an office in Keller. All surgeries and the actual follow up is in Decatur though. I have a good vibes about everyone in his office so far so good. However I have her good things about Dr Smith in Fort worth also. One of the girls that works in my office had the lapband done with him. Best of luck. I can honestly say that I started my process on March 29th, which was my consultatiions, I've already done my pchy eval (done over the phone), my nutrition class (did same day as my consultation), and today I'm having my stress echo done. At the moment I am scheduled for surgery on June 19th, my choice to wait that long.

I used Dr. Davidson at Forest Park (and he is also at Presbyterian). I got my sleeve two years ago next month....NO problems. Dr. Davidson has also been named a 'Top Doc' in D Magazine for the past 17 or 18 years. He does missionary work in his 'spare' time....I think he's a really good guy on top of being a top surgeon with a good reputation. When looking for a surgeon just make sure to look for a Center Of Excellence.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
