I don't live in Vegas. I live in Seattle. A friend of mine was sleeved by Dr. Umbach about a year & 1/2 ago and had a good experience. I had a great experience with Dr. Umbach last week. Feel free to ask specific questions. Even if you have questions about the hotel stay & recovery.

Loran

Loran,

I live in Las Vegas so I will come home after the surgey thanks. How did you do on the Pre-op shakes? I am a self pay patient my insurance does not cover the surgery so I will not meet the Dr until 3-22. So you saying it was a great experience is great to here. How are you feeling after the surgery?

Thanks

Patty

March 10th Sleevers, how are you guys doing?

Honestly, I feel terrible. Wasn't expecting this much pain. Lortab elixir makes me vomit, had to get pills instead.. Feeling stronger every day though I question why I did this?? LOL Just really sore and having a hard time getting all my liquids.

I bet when you start losing the weight you will be questioning why you didn't do it earlier!!! Hang in there, from what I have heard it does get better. Can't wait for my turn in a week.

Yea, meeting him the day before is just fine. Be sure and pay close attention in the nutrition class. Very good information. I'm 10 days post-op and feel great.

Hey kbs1010. Your day is coming up. Will keep you and all other 3/15ers in my prayers. I hope your surgeries go as easily as mine did. Right now I'm just scared of doing anything that could damage it.. Following doc's advise to the t.

Thanks for thinking of me! Yes, at work for my last day before flying out tomorrow. I am on Clear liquids only at this point...I am excited, and scared, and at this point I just want to be there and have met everyone so I know more what to expect!

Yes, please keep us in your prayers. I will update as soon as possible from Mexico.....I am sure I will post tomorrow, but just in case!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
