Mer,

I'm a few days further along then you. I had my TT on March 27th. Can I warn you about one thing? Take a laxative for the next few days. I didn't listen and ended up constipated on day 5. It was the pits. Other than the Constipation alert, things have gotten better by the day. Today starts day 8 for me. Not much swelling, no drains, and feeling more alert. No meds since day 5. You will do fine. Congratulations!!!!

4MeOnly!

Thank you sooo much for the input! I actually have been on laxatives since day one. Glad I did, too....not going to elaborate....LOL Only on tylenol today, which is good. Can't wait to get rid of these drains on Monday. getting bored with TV. I could use a nice sit-own craft. Might have to send my daughter out to find me a crosstitch or something. Too warm to knit....

Thanks, again,

Mer

well I figured out how to do the ticker thing. Several years ago, I needed abdominal surgery, and my doctor believed that if a woman has excess flesh from childbirth deserved a free tummy tuck... but, what he didn't warn me about was that without the JP drain, fluids can build up and at some point burst ...I was lying on the sofa and sneezed and pop! I thought my sutures had burst as there was a warm flud of red (I thought blood) fluid..My hubby called the doctor in a panic and I am in the shower with my tummy running like the red river!, when the doctor said it was normal and I was doing the right thing taking a warm shower until the drainage quit.. what a nightmare for me and my poor hubby!

I haven't heard of any in Seattle, we have a group in Everett... it is primarily for Dr. Kuri patients, so not sure if you can make it that far, but you are welcome if you want to come.... it's the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month and it is open to the banded as well as those who might be interested in LAP band and need some info or questions answered. Email me if interested.

Hi Mer,

How are you feeling? Can you tell a differnece yet or are you swollen? You sound like you're feeling pretty good. I'm so glad.

Cant wait to see you at the meeting at St. Joes'. Gig Harbor is just a little too far away for me.

Hi All,

I just got my approval to have the surgery from my insurance. I'm excited, but equally as scared. Since the thought of someone cutting me...terrifies the hell out of me. We'll see how it goes. I really need to lose the weight. My BMI is 40, so I am happy to be making a positive step towards life long change.

I'm really happy I found this form and might be able to connect with all of you!

Hey Dawn,

I feel pretty good. Takes me an hour to get a sponge bath and wash my hair, etc.....then I'm pretty tired. Just taking it slow....but not too slow! It looks better everyday. Swelling will take a while, but it really looks good. Can't wait to see everyone on the 21st!

Hi girls, I have been very busy playing Grandma to baby Chloeigh since she arrived on the second of April. Mom had to have a c-section so she has needed lots of help since then. They are both doing great now but I can see the recovery from a TT isn't going to be easy.

Mer - how is it going? i cant wait to see your new belly and hear about your surgeon.

I have been so busy being Grandma that I haven't been paying much attention to what I am eating but the band is still doing it's thing . . . slowly . . . and I am one pound away from an 80 pound loss. We have secure spot on our computer now so the girls can't get on my space but it won't let me change my ticker either. darn!

Can't wait to catch up with everyone. Hopefully on the 21st at support group. Till then I will try to get on once in a while.

Loss: 79 pounds, 34 to go

Hey all...

I've been in CA for the last week, so I was just catching up. I'm still in Pullman, visiting daughter for WSU mom's weekend. It's is so much easier to vacation now. Airplane seats and Disneyland rides...seats are a breeze...room to spare!!! I walked around the waterpark in a swimsuit, no problem! The biggest thing...I outlasted 4 TEENAGERS in Disneyland (1 big marathon day), I was still on my feet and going while they were collapsing! That says so much to me about the improvement in my general health, that's the real goal!

Mer...

Good to hear you're doing well, can wait to see you and your new tummy!

Hey Sue! Super about the seat sizes and your burgeoning energy! YIPPEE for you!

Me.....well, some little old lady T-Boned me in Dave's car this afternoon. OMYGOSH! Just driving into our neighborhood and she comes tearing out of a side street and, BOOM! I don't think anything's messed up surgery-wise...maybe a little swelling?....but I'm kind of a little shocky. Dave was a doll....HIS car....oh man. I don't think I want to drive for a while.....

Mer!!!

Good Grief!!! Are you sure you're OK!?! How are you today? Don't atke any chances, get checked out ASAP if you think there is any problem. How bad is the car?

I should be able to make it on Thursday, sure could use a good dose of "get back on the wagon" support after my vacation...I sure do eat BAD when I'm not home. I drove home from from Pullman tonight, left at 4:30, with no dinner, had some chips, dark chocolate covered almonds and a latte, never did actually have dinner, unless you count the ice cream bar! I used the excuse of "caffine to keep me awake while driving by myself" I think I'm gong to be sick...serves me right! I'll wieght in the AM, but the scale is up 5#'s tonight...Yikes!!!

I've bounced the same 5#'s for 2 monthes now...I've got to get back on the wagon, I'm starting to feel depressed and defeated, and that what leads to the rebound with every diet I've ever been on. I'm getting worried about gaining it all back, I don't want to fail. :smile2:

Sue

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
