This is totally TMI- but who needs a liquid preop diet when you can just come down with a horrible case of the stomach flu??? I weigh 9lbs less today than I did at this exact same time yesterday. Just trying to get Water to stay in is hard work!

It's making not cheating exceptionally easy!! Who knew I'd actually appreciate being sick??

Are people struggling with losing recommended pre-surgery

weight?? Probably a stupid question since all of us wouldn't

be here if we were masters at this. I guess I thought once

I had the surgery scheduled I'd just automatically fall in line

because of it but I'm struggling. I've lost 15 of 20 that Nurse

Practitioner recommended. Surgeon recommended 30 lbs.

I start the liquid diet next Thurs. I think I'm in a bit of this

is the last time I'm going to eat syndrome.

Can anyone else relate??

I'm having a horrific time of losing. I feel like I'm stuck in a never ending food funeral!! A whole back I gained 4lbs!! That kicked me in the pants to get in gear because they will cancel surgery if they don't see any behavior modification :(

Bedhead - Sorry to hear your struggling. But you make me feel like I'm not alone.. I have put a few good days together w/food and exercise and tonight I went to GNC to get my postop Protein powder and Vitamins.

FYI - GNC is having a buy one get one for 50% off sale right now. They will let you return the Protein Powder if you try it and don't like it so you aren't stuck with it so that is good. It isn't cheap...

So far I lost 25 pounds after my surgery and it's only been about 3 weeks. Is it a struggle.. OF COURSE. that is why they want you to eat broth and small meals to get your body use to it becasue after the surgery I will guarantee you that you will not be able to eat the amount of food we use to eat on that plate.

I get so full just by eating a cup of grits.lol!! I remember I use to eat a ton of food in a plate now 1 cup of GRITS i feel like I am going to explode.

Keep your mind focus everyone. It's either losing weight or dieing from a heart attack.. Focus,

Make sure you eat your broth and clear liquid's. just remember your insurance approved this procedure so take advantage of it because there are alot of people out here that want it but didn't get approved!. Or their process is challenging...

Remember you will need to throw away your XXL shirt and big size pants and start buying NEW clothes for the summer.!!!

It's a new journey with struggles but at the end you will enjoy every day of your life..

I'm sure there's a thread about Protein on here somewhere, but hopefully you guys have some ideas,)

Hey, (Everyones name is "Hey" ) ha ha! , no charge for that! Back to the subject, I was at the health food / Vitamin place, and saw some Protein drinks called, Isopure, (I think) and it was looking like a SoBe drink, but was a Protein Drink, with a whopping 60 grams of protien....! WOW! At 5 bucks a pop, I buck up the first 4 days after surgery with a small supply, or more. FYI this stuff looks good. liquid Vitamins, 35 and half off second bottle. Liquid b-12, or which the Good Lord Good Looking Dude, Brick House assured me that you could not over dose on B-12 for energy.

I'm starting my self imposed liquid diet tomorrow. HOOOOOOOOOLY crap. I actually wish my surgeon required a preop diet because I feel like it would be much easier for me to be accountable if he was making me do it as opposed to just doing it myself. I'm SO AFRAID that I'm going to gain weight and have to cancel my surgery!

:Angel_anim: You lost 8 lbs according to your ticker...your already beautiful, what could be going wrong?

Awww thank you! What was going wrong was most definitely the food funerals. I was mourning the idea of losing the foods that I love, so I was wolfing them down. Then all of a sudden a few days ago something finally clicked and I've REALLY gotten my butt in gear!

I had my FINAL WEIGH IN at my pre-op today and I lost another pound- So I am cleared for take-off!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
