Still Feel Like I Am On A Diet! Gerrrrrr

Recommended Posts

Healthy and as natural as possible, IMO. Your stomach is the mechanical part of digestion and it has undergone trauma. Let's not test it by giving it processed, difficult to handle foods.

I ate a lot of baked fish (Tillapia baked in butter with sprinkles of parmesan cheese)

Chili (Still eat a lot of that for lunch)

Salads with tuna, blue cheese crumbles and honey mustard dressing. (Nothing low cal or low fat)

Have you been to eggface's blog?

I, like you, needed bold flavors coming off 2 months of blah. Blue cheese and parmesan cheese provided that along with chili. Sharp cheddar cheese was also a mainstay in my diet, too.

But, of course, everything in small amounts. Stop when you begin to feel the restriction.

I refuse to live like I am on a diet, I've refused from day 1, I don't count carbs, calories, Protein, nothing. Whatever I cook for the family, I eat. Like if I make spaghetti and meatballs, I eat a couple of noodles but fill up on meatballs.

Last night we had chicken and Rice Casserole, I ate more of the chicken than anything. Tonight is chicken and stuffing, again I will fill up on the chicken part of it :)

Generally the meals I make are higher Protein anyways now, I feel it's healthier for everyone in the family.

I know for me, I did this surgery to get healthy and be "normal". Living like I'm on a diet is not normal in my book so I won't do it and it has worked well for me.

Thanks for all of the great info everyone. I'm almost 3 weeks out and am getting used to this new way of eating.

I just started walking again with my nike+ chip. If you have a ipod or iphone you can get the nike+ chip kit at most sporting good stores (I got mine at d**k's Sporting Goods). It is good motivation and they have a C25K program on it as well.

If any of you are on it already friend me - my id is Renee, Ph.D.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
