Starting The New Year With The Bootcamp

Recommended Posts

I feel like I've gotten off track sad.png I'm almost 3 months out now, and I don't feel like I'm trying very hard to lose weight. So I decided to do the Bootcamp on here to get myself back on track-figured my butt needed kicked back into shape! I started today, eating no carbs and I have actually almost drank the million quarts of Water for the day. I still don't have alot of motivation to exercise, but I'm going to work on that.

I don't really have the right to complain, I have lost weight since surgery, but I haven't lost any weight for a couple-three weeks now!! I've lost 38 lbs since my surgery and I had lost about 15 lbs with the pre-op diet. Did anyone else have problems this early on?? I feel like I've flunked or something lol. I have to go back to my surgeon next week for another follow-up and I have to have my Vitamin panels drawn, and I'm pretty sure their going to realize that I haven't been very faithful on taking my Vitamins either. Ugh, I need my butt kicked for being so lazy with all of this!!!! Any advice on how to kick my own butt would be greatly appreciated!

Sure, just do it every morning (take vitamins). Picture in your mind that your going for a nice walk and how good you feel about yourself and the weight that you have lost. You are looking really awesome now, but since you have some areas in your body that jiggles, you want to tone those areas by increasing your exercise. Park you car far away from the stores and walk to them. It is time to be thankful for this opportunity to continue on your journey to a skinner you! You deserve this!

Do you think you might be fighting a little depression? You have given up alot by choosing this adventure. ;)

I actually feel like I have a better attitude towards things now than I did before the surgery, I'm more optimistic about things. I need to do some more mental visualizations to help me picture where I want to be!! I have to take my Calcium, B complex, Vit D and Biotin seperate from my Multi-Vitamin, and all of those seperate from my Protonix. That's what has been tripping me up, seperating it all out and actually remembering to take them. I've set reminder alarms in my cell phone of when to take them, and that's been helping. I just need to be accountable for my choices again. I guess I thought that the hard part was over, so now I can be lazy!! Wrong!!!

I've "stalled" for a while now, I was very sick from my colitis so I got off-track on my exercise . . . then the holidays came and I didn't make terrific food choices . . . . so I'm also kicking the new year off with getting back to basics. I'm not necessarily doing the full-blown "bootcamp" but I'm back to the gym, and back to tracking EVERYTHING I eat (even if I eat something that isn't great for me). I haven't gained, but I've stayed at the same weight for a month now. :)

If you're only 3 months out your lab levels will probably still be OK. My surgeon told me that they don't even draw lab panels until after the first year (unless they suspect an issue or deficiency) because he said it honestly can take that long for a deficiency to appear. Just get back on track with your Vitamins - putting an alarm in your phone is a great idea! I have one of those weekly pill organizers that has 4 spaces for each day (and each day's organizer removes from the base) - I sit down on Sunday afternoons and fill the whole thing up for the week. Each day I take it with me to work and sit it on the front of my desk by my keyboard, so I am constantly glancing at it during the day. That way I always remember to take my pills.

Good luck to you!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
