Any Ideas For A Wagging Chin?

Recommended Posts

I'm just two weeks in and I can already feel an increased weakness in the turkey wattle below my chin. Any ideas on chin exercises to help the skin keep up with the weight loss? Many thanks

Oh god, I hope someone chimes in here with a miracle -- my wattle is hideous. Makes me look a decade older than I am. :(

The idea of sagging skin nearly stopped me because I know that I will never afford follow-up surgery on that apron, those bat wings, etc. Shiver. I know exercise can help, but I admit the idea of being such a "loose woman" scares me.

standing, bend head back to stretch neck, hold few seconds, repeat a couple of times.

tilt head back, do a chewing motion about 20 times, repeat a few times

tilt head back, try kissing ceiling, hold few seconds, repeat a few times.

turn head hold a few seconds, turn to other side, repeat a few times.

Of course, if you have limitations or neck injuries consult your doctor. Try just about anything to stretch neck. Creams and other stuff advertised is not going to shrink skin. Last resort is a face lift.

My wattle wags. My bat-wings pop against my rib cage when I change clothes. My inner thighs are as crepey as my eye-lids. My panda-bear tattoo is now a giraffe. But I've lost almost 30 pounds, and by golly, I'd rather sag than bulge.

Bionic Broad, I like your style. I may never look good in a bathing suit, but as look as I look good in my own head, who cares?

Loose skin also worries me. I can see my stomach shrinking from my pre op diet and it already is sagging. I know clothes will hide a majority of the excess skin but undressing for a shower or our husbands leaves me feeling a little ashamed that I allowed myself to become this way. However, being able to walk and breath better is well worth the sagging skin. We are all sexy in our own ways and besides what matters is what is inside a person. Good luck!!!

I can cover up the sagging body with clothes but everyone sees my face. Face/necklift on Wednesday!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
