Hi all, What time of day do you take your PPI? Also I am experiencing a strange thing....when I eat well, I don't loose, when I don't eat well....I loose....weird...or is it just my imagination? What do you think? I haven't taken my PPI since a month out from surgery and I don't have any symptoms of needed one but I do get hungrier as the evening wears on? Do I need it? Thanks, Tracy w.

I'm still taking my PPI. I know that it takes about 6 weeks typically. I hate the other filling (of being hungry).

I am 2 1/2 years out and still take a Prilosec every day. I have to take it first thing in the morning, or I have major acid problems. This never happened to me prior to surgery. But, I am okay with it. Having to add one extra pill to my morning regimen is no big deal, in comparison to all the weight I have lost and how much better I feel.

The surgery gave me MAJOR acid issues. I take pantoprazole and ranitidine in the morning, and another ranitidine at night. My doctor actually advised me to take both twice per day, but most of the time I don't need the second pantoprazole.

I take Protonix twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, and I also take Zantac once a day in the mid-morning. I have had trouble with GERD for the past 10 years, and I have Barrett's esophagitis now too so I have to keep on top of mine pretty good. I can tell in the evenings if I haven't taken my medicine though, I get the "munchies"...it's really weird!!!

My surgeon wants me to continue my PPI for the first year. I was originally on omeprazole 20 mg twice daily, but continued to have issues. I'm now on Dexilant in the morning and an OTC Zantac at night - no acid problems at all. As long as I get my Protein in, I don't have hunger issues (other than the occasional bout of head hunger).

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
