Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery In June 2012

Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker for a couple of months now.....decided to build up the courage to ask a question..

I was banded back in 2005....and at the most I have lost 30 pounds, I really need to lose 150 pounds....I find myself getting really hungry, and when I work out its the worst!! It like I am STARVING and when I eat I end up eating too fast and pbing......

a friend of mine had me talk to a cousin of hers who had the sleeve, and I have decided to do the revision surgery....I'm a teacher so I will need to wait until the summer, so the plan is to have it June 2012...

Now my question is has anyone had the same issue with the band as me?? I dont have any issues with slippage or erosion or anything like that...

I would often feel hungry with the band.

Yes had the band placed in 2006. It was always either too loose and I could eat anything or too tight and everything I ate came back up. I needed to lose 100 lbs but only lost 50. I lived off of soup and milkshakes for 4 years since that was the only thing that stayed down. I got pregnant, gained all my weight back plus some. Tried to fill the band after the baby and was right back to throwing uo my food but this time I was not losing a pound. Found out the band had slipped, yay. I am glad it did because now I have the sleeve and life is a million times better than it ever was with the band. No more throwing up meals, I eat a few bites and I am super full. I feel so alive and healthy now that I can eat healthy foods instead of milkshakes. Best decision I ever made by FAR.
