June 2010 I was 305, by August 4, 2011 day of surgery I was 236 and today I am 198. I am 5'8" and yes, there is a massive light at end of tunnel. Stay on the train and enjoy the ride.

At 5'10, I was 292lb for surgery in early May and am 210 today heading to a goal of about 190 (15% body fat or lean side of normal for men,) and could probably do a "normal" BMI weight of 160-170ish if I wanted to be unhealthily skinny. Definitely a do-able do.

6'3" 431lb at the time of my surgery. The last thing you are is alone. Several here have that 300+ (and 400+) pound mark to start out. I'm just a couple weeks out from surgery and have ups and downs. But if you ask me if I have any regrets I'd say no. Not even wish I'd have done it sooner.

Hi there!

I haven't been super active on the forum lately but I'm trying to change that and your post just happened to catch my eye.

I am 5'8.5 and the day of surgery (November 27 2010) I was 325#.

Now 10.5 months post op I have lost 155#'s.

I am 170...5 lbs under my Dr's original goal of 175.

I have made YouTube videos along the way if you would like to watch my journey. Please see the link in my signature.

Good luck on your journey and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

:-)

~Bonnie

Yes, you will lose the weight. Read my blog, www.kemo46.blogspot.com , I was 315 lbs and I am 6'2", I now weight 236 less than 5 months out. The sleeve is a tool, if you follow your surgeons directions, eat right and exercise, you will do well. This is a life changer and you will be successful.

I'm 5'11" and was 367 pounds when I started the preop liquid diet in April. The day of my surgery, May 20, I was down to 339. As of today, I am down about 86 pounds,.

There is most definitely a light at the end of the tunnel. I still have over 100 pounds to lose, but getting 86 off has made a world of difference. I look so much better already. I'm buying smaller sizes and looking better in clothes. My stamina for exercise is much higher. In fact, I just finished a week at Biggest Loser Resort Fitness Ridge in Utah where we hiked 2-3 hours per day and worked out 3-4 hours a day on top of that. It's not something I ever thought I could do and I certainly could not have done it 86 pounds ago.

My only regret regarding this surgery is not having done it sooner. THis is just the beginning for me. Things are looking up!

I started out at 370lbs on preop diet on July 26 of this year, Had surgery on Aug 23. I now weigh 312/313lbs. i am 5'10". The weight is slower in coming off now but I am still losing, and have some stalls sometimes. Very glad I had the sleeve done, it was a lifesaver.

I am probably the shortest person with the most to lose. My starting weight was 390 and I am 5'1". I am currently 295, moving slow and steady at this point. Still a long way to go. You can do it!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
