Confused about time to take Vits and what not to mix?

I am taking a multi, Calcium, b-12, Biotin and Iron. I just recently talked to someone who said I should be careful with mixing by Vitamins and make sure to take my Iron at night.

Then someone says take Iron in morning.. I am so confused.. When do you take your vitamins> Does it matter..

Iron and Calcium negate each other so separate them by a few hours.

Also a PPI (Omiprozole or Nexium etc.) need to be taken separate from calcium as well.

I take ompiprozole at Breakfast, calcium at lunch and iron at dinner. Perhaps not the best but it keeps them from interfering.

I take calcium in the morning with my multi-vitamin, B12, and D. I take iron in the evening with C (helps the iron absorb better) and another multi. I also take my PPI in the evening.

Ugh, I've been taking one installment of my calcium with my PPI. What issues are caused by this?

Lack of acid MAY prohibit the adsorption, look here: http://www.reflux.org/reflux/webdoc01.nsf/%28vwWebPage%29/CalciumPPI.htm?OpenDocument

Thanks Rootman. My nutritionist told me this morning that I didn't need to worry about taking my PPI with my calcium since I'm taking calcium citrate.

Just do NOT take calcium, Iron or your PPI togther, the rest are fine.

I take my PPI when I get up at 5am. At about 6am, I take my Vit C, Vit D and B-12. At 7am I take an iron pill.

I take my multi when I eat breakfast and then every 2 hours I take a dose of calcium (3 daily).

I then take another iron pill with dinner and another Prilosec before bed.

Seems like a lot, but once you get in a groove, it is just second nature.

My physician said the multivitamin should be taken separate from the calcium citrate. Take the multiviatmin with breakfast; take your first dose of calcium at lunch; second dose at dinner; and your thrid dose at bed time.
