4 days post op - WHATS UP with my TOUNGE?!

Hi all, I am new to this site, but so far I LOVE it. I will do my intro post later this evening, but I wondered if any of you had an odd feeling on your tongue post surgery? It is hard to describe, but I will try:

(FYI I am 4 days post op - sleeved on 8/25/11, no complications, healing is going very well)

My entire mouth feels VERY dry, my tongue feels scratchy, and "coated" ...the taste buds seem weirded out. It's almost the same feeling as when you burn your tongue, but it's all over (And without the pain) It is really affecting my broth (SO tired of DAMN BROTH!!!!!!!..) and drink consumption.

Has anyone else had this? What is it from? Does it go away? When?

Thanks in advance,

GiGi

Sounds like you MIGHT have thrush, they usually give you IV antibiotics in the hospital, and sometimes that will cause yeast to grow. Its yeast on your tounge basically. I got it too. Showed up four days post op as well. I took a Diflucan pill and it went away. You should see your doc for this.

It could be from the protein drinks they can leave a coating.
