I have a cold and the drainage is making me sick!

I had surgery 6 wks ago and have been doing pretty good. I have a summer cold that started a few days ago and now i cant hardly eat and Im sick to my stomach. I wake up first thing in the mornings throwing up because of the drainage. i get sick through the day because im coughing so much! Has this happened to anyone else?

I will be out 3 weeks tommorrow and I have been sufferring similarly this weekend. I haven't actually vomited, but I have had to use some zofran and have struggled getting anything down. Today I am actually getting better from the cold standpoint and have done better with my food. HOpe you feel better soon.

Are you taking anything? My doc said cold and alergy meds were okay...just be careful they don't contain any extras for pain that we can't tolerate.

I took sudafed and chlortrimeton to dry me up and clear my head. I didn't have any issues with them. I was concerned they would aggravate the constipation but that's such a crazy issue with me already I didn't see how much worse it could get.

Talk to your doc if you are not taking anything and would like to be. They could guide you to something. Maybe if you take something at night so it's not draining while you sleep it would be a benefit.
