Recommended Posts

I haven't gained yet. I have had stalls though. My longest stall was 6 weeks. I am 5.5 months out.

It's very difficult to keep it off.

Now that I've had back surgery, I am not supposed to diet. I am trying to get my bone to graft. I can't exercise either. I am freaked out, officially.

Oregon daisy, how was the back surgery? You survived it! Not a time to be down about weight and diet. Should be celebrating this milestone. And, you know what? You were abke to do it before. You got a head start now

We know nuthin is ever going to be handed to us and it sure isnt gonna get easy just cuz....but one thing we hold onto: we did it before...we know it is within us to do it...just focus on your rehab and tackle amy other probs after. You are a formidable fighter...dont forget that.

Ps: nobody told me not to diet after my hernua surgery but i didnt heal until i added some complex carbs. ...u got the right advice.

The standard advice is to start varying up the diet more and to slash calories, but that's kind of hard since we have slashed virtually every calorie we can already by dint of the procedure. But as our tolerance for exercise increases, we can start varying that up more too so that the body can't learn to become efficient with any particular form of exercise. It's a great way to restart weight loss, surgery or otherwise, in my experience.

Well I'm 2.5weeks out and my weight loss has come to a complete stop, I'm even wondering if they really did the sleeve? How is it possible to have majority of your stomach removed, being on liquids and liquids is zero Powerade, a low cal ice coffee no cream or ice cream and still not loose weight! Good thing I'm seeing the nutritionist tomorrow, not very happy at all:(((

I'm a 50 year old male and was sleeved 3 years ago this December. I had lost down to 140 and gained 20 pounds. At 160 now and would like to lose about 10 to be at about 150. But it's a real struggle now, definitely not as easy anymore.

Jorge, congratulations on your weight loss and keeping most of it off for 3 years! That 20 pound bounce is harder and harder to get off for me too... I keep trying though... really don't want to gain more!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
