DID TIME JUST START MOVING 100 TIMES SLOWER?!?!?!

Recommended Posts

So, now that I've gotten approval from insurance and got a date 8/22, I feel like the days are just draggin by  I don't know what to do with myself.. I think I've got it under control and I'm trying to stay positive, but I feel like I'm going crazy  I should be in a great mood, and instead I find myself snapping at everyone and very on edge... waiting is the worst.

Yep it is... I told my doc let'sget this done yesterday! But time will pass and pretty soon it will be the day before your surgery and all sorts of crazy things will go through your mind. Use the time to develop good habits, eat slowly, small bites and chew..

Thank you khy :) It helps to not feel alone. I've been on the 17 day diet for a little over a week now and I've lost 6lbs so far.. I'm just so used to seeing the scale move down and then right back up again.. I am soo ready to do this and make it permanent, once and for all :D

My date is Aug 9th and for the past few days I've been eating like a TOTAL FREAK. I think I'm afraid I'm going to miss the taste of food or something. Well I need to get myself back on track. Yes, time seems to be moving slowly. I wish my date was tomorrow :)

I know the feeling!! And right after I found out my surgery date I was soooo excited. But then time stood still! But now that I am into my final week of preop the clock has started to speed up. It's like oh crud! Do I have everything? I still need to pick this up and that up and get this done cuz I will be recovering...So don't be surprised when the clock kicks in!

It will get here. I promise you. I feel the same way almost every day, but you know what? The ticker keeps moving each day, and I have little goals that keep my time line moving. In 10 days, I submit to insurance. In 25 days, I move to my new apartment. In 28 days, I start my new university. In 38, I have surgery. It will happen!

YES!!! Time seems to be moving at a snails pace for me as well. My date is August 4th and I have been on my diet since last Thursday. I have slipped a little here and there but I think overall I'm doing ok. I'm on the lower end of the BMI spectrum so I hope that helps with the liver thing. I'm sure next week will be very intense for me. Good luck to everyone.

OMG! I just got my sleeve surgery scheduled for the EXACT SAME DAY as you....August 22, 2011!! I m trying to get my house all cleaned up and make preparations. I just ordered two of the recommended Protein shake brands listed in the Excellent/Good column. I still have some tests to complete....I am getting a little scared when I overthink things....you?

Caycaye! THAT IS SOOO AWESOME! Where are you having surgery? Who is your doctor? I feel like time is just going to slow. I'm not afraid at all. This wont be my first surgery, so that may be why. My husband is terrified that I'm going to get too skinny, and I'm thinking "are you crazy!!?? I can NEVER be too skinny!!!" LOL. This is all I talk about night and day. I'm dreaming of being skinny. In all my dreams I'm thin and running.. its soo cool. I will be getting my Protein at GNC during the beginning of the month since we are on their card program and get a discount during the first 10 days of each month. I think I'll be getting the Isopure since those have zero carbs. They also have clear protein which is appealing to me. We need to really keep in touch after surgery to keep us motivated and moving forward :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
