Anybody Broke down for no reason?

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I'm at Dr. Clark's office & I am meeting with a lady about my up coming surgery on July 26th. Towards the end I'm all happy & having a good meeting about what my life will be like after surgery.

I tell her I first saw " the Gastric Sleeve operation on TV and I knew then I would never be trapped in this body again." When I said that I just broke down crying. I was fine one second & crying the next. WTF??? I was embarrassed. I did not have any clue this was going to happen. Goes to show you how your feelings can stay hidden. I guess it also shows how much this means to people like us.

OMGosh! I did the same thing! I think that it has to do with fighting with it for so long and finally finding a tool to help you fix the problem. I don't think people that don't have the same issues could even begin to wrap their heads around the emotions with deal with beginning fat, big, heavy, overweight.....whatever they want to call it.

You will be sleeved before me but I'm right behind you. :D

Maybe its just your hormones. LOL Just kidding.

I know how you feel. I haven't cried yet, but I know when I see that scale say 199, that will be my breaking point. I haven't seen that in forever. And to know I will never ever see it again will be a huge relief.

I think its great you cried. This means alot to you. I can't wait to see the new you in a few months.

Hugs,

I understand your emotions regarding this life-changing surgery. I am about 3 months out. Last weekend I cleaned out my closet. For the first time EVER I could look at big clothes and think "This will never fit me again!!" I have always in the past kept those clothes because I have lost and gained so many times I knew I would be seeing them again.

OMG, can this really be happening?? Thank God and Dr. Aceves, YES!!!!

Papa Jack...Don't be ashamed for crying. It takes a strong man to cry. Like Julie said....it just shows how much this means to you. I've spent years and years crying over being overweight and trying to change my diet and not being strong enough. Eating very little when others were pigging out around me. That is rough, and not we have a tool to help us be "normal" and not have to struggle so much. I don't know when I will cry...maybe I've cried enough already....but would not be surprised if I did break down and cry. There is a lot of emotion tied up into our weight struggles. ((hugs)) Not much longer until we are on the flipside!!!!

Another guy here, I held it in till just after the surgery then had a massive cry, you know one of those kids get and can't catch their breath? It's natural, your facing a veritable unknown, a MASSIVE change in lifestyle and the removal of something that's given you comfort ALL your life - food It's natural to have a LOT and conflicting emotions about it. It's hit me a couple of times since then too, I suspect that the sudden and tremendous changes my body are going through have upset my body chemistry pretty severely.

Ahhh Papa Jack, that is so sweet. See women love it when a man shows emotion. Ha! I haven't cried yet...I think I am so relieved to find other people who feel the same way as me. I always felt alone and like I was the only one with these issues and dealing with being overweight.

I am a day behind you and I will be kicking you along.

Hey look on the bright side, you shed some Water weight. lol

Sandra

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
