overwhelmed first 48 hours

Recommended Posts

So I planned and everything but I am feeling overwhelmed. I can't seem to keep enough liquids down to get rid of this headache, and concentrated urine. I was on oxygen in the hospital I have sleep appnea and am thinking I should be back on the oxygen. I can't sleep with my sleep appnea mask on and i have been sleeping with it for over a year now. My anxiety is through the roof over the not getting anough fluids. i think it is just all hitting me the changes. i have the nurses number and he has had surgery too so he is great. i will call him tomorrow. for tonight i just can't sleep. I haven't had my depression meds in 3 days need to chop them up and take them. i will do it tomorrow. for tonight i am just trying to relax. I can do this. I have all the drinks here and a care package from my nurse. i just need to keep Water in me. i can do this, this is the worst part so i can make it.

Take a deep breath! It will all be fine. The next few days will be tough but each day will get better and easier. You do have to work at getting the liquids in, even if a little at a time. Once the swelling goes down, it will get easier and easier. Hang in there and take care of yourself, it is up to you to carry yourself through it with a little help from your friends of course!! I promise you will get better. I am 9 days out and was feeling very overwhelmed at first too. Already I am feeling like a normal person again! Although still a bit tired.

You can do it!!!

You really will feel so much better as each day passes and as they say walk, sip, rest, repeat!

I am 6 weeks out now and those first few days are just a distant memory.

I feel amazing and apart from the very small amounts of food I eat I feel totally normal - only much lighter!

Go easy on yourself but try try try to get some Water in and also try sf jelly as it was a god send for me. I know it sounds crazy when you find it hard to drink Water but for me it was so much kinder to my new tiny tummy and I was able to get about a pint in each day that way!

Sending you healing wishes and welcome to the loosers bench!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
