What we did on our cruise to Alaska and our 14 day one to the Caribbean is use Water bottles for clear alcohol and diet coke plastic bottles for rum or bourbon. In each port of call, leave with the Water you need to drink anyway and then stop at a liquor store and pick up your beverage of choice. I usually had a six pack of bottled water and then carried in my hand my refilled vodka water and walked right through the scanner with it. Never had a problem.

We also brought coffee type mugs with lids so we could mix our drinks in our room and then wander around the boat, sit poolside, etc. Saved alot of money and NO we are not heavy drinkers. I actually lost 5 pounds on the cruise.

ALso, it is much cheaper to not book excursions ahead of time with the cruise line. We waited till we got to port and usually if there were 6 or so of us it would cost almost half the price. And comparing at dinner, we usually saw and did so much more than the others. They bent over backwards to show us a great time. It also makes it nicer when you don't have to spend so much money and then tip after. If it was half price you don't mind giving them a generous tip.

FYI -- Our cruise director on the Alaska trip told us about the alcohol tip and on the caribbean cruise our cabin guy told us about the excursions.

I will see if I can arrange time to make it - sounds like you will all have a blast.

'HUGS

Just a note everyone.... the group rate is extended to the very tippy top last date of September 31st for last minute cruisers. For you solo people, I can try but can't guarantee a roomie. But give me a shot at trying. I won't take your deposit until I find you one! We would have to see how many people wanted to go single. For those of you traveling with a friend or a hubby we have cabins!!!!

So PM me ASAP with the info I need from the original post.

Let's go cruisin'!!!

Been on the ship. It is beautiful and the service is top notch. It is funny I was looking to go on this cruise the other day (I take one every summer either with friends or my mother). Last year I took Carnival and couldn't decide which I liked better. Either way whoever goes will have a blast!

Who's READY to go cruising?!!! We've only got a little over 9 months to go  This summer for the 1st time in many, many years I spent some time at our neighborhood pool.... so, by next June I'll be ready with a new swimsuit anxious to go!

Is everyone getting their passport ready? I ordered my birth certificate from New Orleans and it came this past week!!! I was pleasantly suprised it only took about 4 weeks to arrive, I'm glad to see the State government is still hard at work. I had only a small 3x5 copy from many years ago.. but this is usually not acceptable, you'll probably need a certified copy (long form) birth certifcate with a raised embossed seal.

Let's get to crack 'a lacking on the paperwork so we can get onto the F-U-N!!!

Hi everyone! I wanted to do a quick check-in because I'm leaving in a week and will be out of the country for a month. Our group closes on October 2nd, so we're going to be losing any reserved cabins that don't have a deposit on them at that time. If you're interested in coming along, please PM me or Jenna ASAP. Once I'm out of the country, I don't know if I'll be able to get to this site, so PM Jenna and she can email me.

Once the group closes, we can still add cabins -- but the rates will likely be a bit higher and the deposits will have to be processed within 24 hours of booking.

For those of you that are booked, as soon as I return from my vacation I will be getting the information on insurance that so many have asked about (we can't purchase it until the group closes). I will also follow up with cruise documentation at that time.

Thanks, everyone, for participating, and thanks to Jenna for putting it together! This cruise is going to be awesome.

DH and I went down today to apply for our passports. We are so excited about the Cruise. I want to start shopping but I don't know what size I will be in 9 months. :clap2:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
