@SimplyQuel,

I was told that some stalls are to be expected. I was so busy this week I was only able to use my stationary bike for three days this week and I walked yesterday. I took my usual route to walk and beat the time by 5 minutes so that tells me I need to walk a little further and hopefully I can get a little faster. My only problem is I have asthma and sometimes too much can aggravate it and there I am on the nebulizer again. I must admit though since the surgery I have been okay and with the weight I have lost I haven't had many issues with my asthma. I haven't weighed in a week so I am going to get a scale and see where I am now. Isn't funny when you know you are heavy you refuse to buy a scale but when you are losing you are gung ho to get one?

Oh yeah, I stall for about 3 weeks a month and then drop a large amount the week after my period. I hate it with a firey passion, but at least I have a routine. Don't worry about stalls too much, just stick with your plan and the weight will come off.

I was sleeved on July 3, 2012, and glad to have gone through with it. I constantly dream about life as a "thin(ner) person". It it almost inconceivable to think I WILL be wearing sizes, and weighing amounts I can't even remember! I am certainly looking foward to the journey!

I was sleeved on 06/20.....day of surgery I was at 195, down from 201.5, now 3 weeks post op, I was at 184, but now at 187....struggling to get my Protein in and Water, excercising every ither day...dont know how I gained 3 lbs back and dont know why the scales seem to be NOT moving...want to get to the point I have read so much about where people see the weight just start "falling off" On the flip side I have lost inches, but the scale isnt moving...dont want to get discouraged this early in the game At the point now where I have made up my mind not to go near the scale except for maybe once a week....dont want to be disappointed..........any suggestions?

Hello,

Just joined the group but not new to VST! Like what I see thus far. Had my surgery in May 2011 down 123lbs and still loving the journey thru the good and ruff patches!

Hello all, I was sleeved July 10, 2012. I'm doing really good. I have lost 23 #'s so far. I'm still getting used to my smaller stomach and how much or should I say how little I can eat. I'm still on puree for a few more days but I'm so ready to eat regular food. I've just started to exercise because I haven't really had much energy to do so. I'm going to enjoy my journey.

Hi, I am new to the group and do not yet have a surgery date. I am hoping for September.

Can you tell me how it has been with your hair loss? I am wondering if it worse for those that are relaxed vs. natural?

I am so excited to find this group as well. I am looking to hear from you all. I awaiting surgery scheduled for Oct 11, 2012. It seems so far away but the more I educate myself from other experiences on this site, I think the more prepared and successful I will be. I love to read and see all the success stories they are very uplifting and encouraging. I would like to here some of the challenges as well because if others have overcome them then it can be encouraging as well. I am all eyes on this site...

Hi newbie here,

I will be sleeved on Oct 5, 2012. Like everyone else I am excited to learn new things and get information from other sleevers on their journey. Ups and downs...the good, the bad and the ugly about being sleeved and yes, even the saggy breast and skin after surgery. Trying to prepare for my journey.

Does anyone know if there are any groups for the Houston area?

Another newbie present and accounted for. I will be sleeved October 5, 2012 by Dr. Fernando Garcia. This has been a long time coming and I am anxiously counting down. So glad to see so many AA sisters taking charge of their health and to also know I'm not alone in this struggle.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
