Pre-op weight loss?

Hey I'm Jenny, I am new here. I am currently 451 and my Dr. has ordered I lose 30 pounds before he will operate. Has anyone else had similar experiences with having to lose a certain amount of weight before surgery?

I was not given a specific number of pounds to lose before surgery he wanted me to lose as much as possible. That being said I lost about 27 lbs all together before surgery. My highest weight was 390.

Let us know how you are doing Jenny.

Hi Jen.... I weigh 204 and my Dr told me this week that I have to lose 6 more lbs before she'll operate. I think it's more the discipline rather than the actual weight lose. They don't want us to go overboard and eat everything in sight.

Good luck!!
