how long were you off work?

My surgeon said a minimum of 14 days and normal is a month. I have short term disability after 21 days and honestly I could save enough in addition to the time I will have in vacation - and I am seriously thinking about it. I am so stressed with work and so ready for a break!

Did anyone else do that?

I had my surgery on July 22nd and as of today I'm feeling pretty strong. I'll go back on august 15th. I hope it's not too soon but I think I'll do okay. I have a desk job and work from a home office. I can take a quick nap if needed. And I have all my food, etc handy. Good luck with your recovery. You will do great!

I'm going back to work Monday (1 day shy of 4 weeks). I'm a teacher so that is our first day back after summer, and I've needed every day of these 4 weeks. I've had a lot of incision pain, which is just now feeling good on a consistent basis.

I had surgery on July 26th and returned to a fairly physical job on August 1st. I acutally worked a 36 hour shift with only 1 hour of sleep and did well. It was actually easier for me to get my fluids and protein in when I was forced to be up and moving. Since that shift, I have worked daily and will work a 48 hour shift this weekend, hopefully with more sleep. I have done well, but I must admit it would have been nice to have a little more time off, but it was impossible.
