hello all, sounds like everyone is doing great, I got an unexpected job promotion, but it is just making me work like 60 hours a week until I learn the job itself! GRRR cannot get to the gym at all, I leave home at 5:30 AM and get home @ 6:30 7:00 PM... I cannot check in here like I like to. Have to go update my loss, I am at 87 lbs. All the men at work is telling me I am so skinny! I am not, they were just used to seeing this 254 lb woman, but it is nice to be noticed! :)

ROCK that sleeve! Good luck to all the newbies.... and have a blessed day~

Well I have to say this and get it off my chest. My Mexico experience was just mot right. When I was moved from the hospital to the hotel no one checked my incisions after. I noticed when I left the hospital that they were extremely red but thought they were the professionals and I guess this is normal. I was all alone. Promises were made that someone would be there to keep me company if I wanted it or someone would be checking up on me. Wrong. No one checked up on how my incisions were doing.

Well I am paying for this lack of service now. What was thought as redness turned out to be a horrible infraction. Yesterday which was 10 days after surgery the surgeons without freezing ended up opening my incisions two of them, taking out the inside and outside stitches and packing the incisions. Now I have to go two times per day to have this changed. I can not tell you the excruciating pain I have been in. So please be aware! Especially if traveling alone.

Kat1,

You poor thing! I'm sorry you are going through this. Are you still in Mexico or are you going to a local dr now?

Hi Sisilian

Thank you so much. I am home now and under care here. Hurting puppy to say the least. But that is today. What makes me sad is 1) the delay in healing now that I will miss the whole summer of swimming. And 2) the lack of care given to me in Mexico. I just don't want anyone to go what I went through. Thanks for listening very emotional.

Where did you go in Mexico? We need to be aware of the places that give the kind of care you recevied there.

I am sorry you are going through this. Nobody should have to deal with this. I hope you heal very quickly and can put this behind you soon.

oregondaisy is right. You should post the full name of the hospital and make others aware of what happened to you. I too am so very sorry Kat. And I don't think of it as "bad mouthing" all hospitals in Mexico. But it needs to be told. Most of the people who go to Mexico are giving glowing reports of how wonderful their experience is. It is important to let others know there is another side to the story as well, especially if you are alone, as you had to be. Nothing worse than having something wrong and being by yourself. Please take good care of yourself and keep us posted on how you are doing. I'm thinking of you and will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery too. I so wish this hadn't happened to you Kat :(

Kat i am so sorry you went through this...i agree you should let everyone know where and who did this to you... All we read is how wonderful everyone has been treated...there is always two sides to everything.....as you said, no one should go through this...

Thank goodness you are home and under your doctors care...accept my healing prayers and take care.

Thanks Joni and tjmom

To say this has been an experience from you know where is putting it mildly. My family doctor called today to say I brought back a bacteria which attacks the organs if not caught in time with this special antibiotic so I am leaving shortly to go back to the hospital to get this. I just came home from having my dressings changed which was so painful as they pull out this packing. The nurse was so great though. My daughter came with me and almost passed out when she seen the wholes lol. All she said to me after was "mom you are truly the best, I can't imagine going through what you are with no pain medication and being so brave". I just chuckled and sang Kelly clarkson's song "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". We both laughed until the next bump she drove over lol. Big hugs

KT

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
