Okay Here we go! I am having my surgery on Tuesday the 22 here in Knoxville, TN. So the nerves have started. I feel very well informed, thanks to the people at my Dr.'s office and to the people on this forum.

Still a little nervous. I have only lost 8lbs on the pre-op diet and I am hoping for 10 by Tuesday. I blew it today though I think partly nerves and the other is just that my will-power stinks! I have been exercising every other day and doing my deep breathing exercises too. Really I am excited too, Tuesday can't get here fast enough the waiting is is taking it's toll. LOL

You'll be exactly a week ahead of me - my op is on March 1st (wanna swap dates with me? - pleeeeease)

If you don't manage to lose those 2 pesky lbs before the op, you'll sure as anything lose them afterwards- so stay positive and good luck on your journey to a healthier life :D

Good luck to you. Be sure to ask lots of questions if you have them. And follow those instructions! Be patient with yourself after surgery, you will have a hard time initially being able to get all of your liquids and Proteins in, but it you will get there. Keep us posted and know that you have cheerleaders her for you!

I'm getting sleeved the 23rd, so I know how you feel with the ever increasing nerves! Good luck to you & just keep reminding yourself about all the reasons you are doing this and not the slim chances of problems.

Okay it want you all to know it was not as bad as I had expected! I have lost 5 more pounds since surgery on Tuesday! Tue. and Wen. were rough a little nausea and blood pressure issues. But I kept up with the sip and walk thanks to my wonderful husband and beautiful daughter. Today has been good. Looking forward to the future.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
