I just notice it was spelled wrong what I meant to say was rest is key to recovery. So get your rest and sip sip sip

Hello fellow Michiganders! I was just sleeved 5-2-11 at U of M by Dr Finks. I am in the Fowlerville area, not too far from some of you!

Hi Mommy23....I just got my sleeve on July 21st, 2015 and signed up for this app and looking for support in the area. I also live in fowlerville and would love to talk about how I am going to progress from here (3days out).

I've seen a few people comment on Dr. Gluck in Muskegon and I'm curious what his pre-op program looks like. I have my consult next month and waiting is killing me, so I'm trying to get any info I can in the interim!

Re Dr Gluck, I just finished my pre op requirements for insurance. After info meeting and consult with Dr Gluck, I attended a nut info meeting, a support group meeting, a psych evaluation, 6 months of dr supervised weight loss program with the PA, EGD, and a stress test.

Thanks @@newme101415, how did those go for you? I'm doing the NUT class, consult and seminar all in one day and psych eval in my hometown (out-of-town patient), and I'm hoping to minimize my trips to Muskegon. How was the support group meeting? Did you only have to do one?

All went well for me. Yes, I only went to one support meeting, but I plan to regularly attend meetings after my procedure on 14 October.

The support meeting was interesting, in that the co-leaders did a nice job of trying to include everyone in the conversation, despite the efforts of two people that attempted to monopolize the entire session with their "fascinating" stories.

Best wishes to you. Thus far, I have been very impressed with everyone that I have met in Dr Gluck's office. All have been very knowledgeable and professional.

I am beside myself with excitement and anticipation. My VSG is scheduled for 9/1 with Dr Schram at Blodgett Hospital. I had my "Final Decision" appointment today, and he had an opening for the 1st so I took it! Met with the NUT and got on the pre op diet on the spot. Pre op appointment is Monday. I am so excited for the next step on the journey!

I wish I was closer so I could go to more than required, but it's just not an option being so far away. Thanks for the well-wishes, maybe I'll see you around!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
