Fill Doc in Houston

Recommended Posts

I had my 2nd fill done this afternoon with Dr. Mathew St.Laurent from north Houston. Very professional, courteous with excellent hands for my fill. IMO. I was very nervous since this fill was being done without floursocopy but alas he soothed those uneasy feelings and before I knew it.......done! Great guy....super. Thought I would share that with all.

Hi Cookster!

Good for you!! Well, since it is 6/22/6, you've had your surgery and are probably in a little pain right about now. You did the right thing and as I found out a couple months ago when I was banded, it wasn't so bad. It seemed like everyday I was 100% better than the day before. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

Dr. Spiegel did my surgery and I had my first fill about 10 days ago. Since he is out-of-network now, he is charging $100.00 a fill - which I thought was outrageous until I'm seeing that there are doctors out there doing it for $150.00 - $300.00.

Good luck to you both!!

I am doing better today than yesterday. I thought I was doing well until yesterday about 1:15pm and then the horrible gas pains and nausea. Oh my the nausea was the worst. I feel the gas is in the bigger part of the stomache and trying to squeeze up thru to the little stomache but just can't make it. I have been having so much pressure in that area. I have been taking Gas-X strips, using a heating pad, walking and even had my husband go get me some Mylicon drops. No of it has really helped. I woke up last night around 12:30 with the horrible need to throw up but you are not supposed to feeling. My husband has been hitting me on the back to help some of it move around. I probably have bruises on my back! The liquid diet is so boring and I am not really eating anything that has calories in it. The funny thing is I am not even hungry. I know that will pass but right now it is a godsend otherwise I would propably be in worse pain! Thanks for the well wishes.

I had a lot of trouble with gas pains also. They were horrible. And, as all the bandster will tell you, and what I found out is true...is WALK, WALK, WALK. Good luck, and hang in there. It gets better and better.

Yes today was better than yesterday and the days before. The gas wasn't so bad today. He he he....a lot of it came out this morning!!! But I have that strange gurgling/burping thing going on that I have read about. I hope that goes away soon. I went to work today but decided I couldn't handle the 8-5 so I went in at noon and it went pretty well. I was tired of being cooped up at home anyway.

Hi Cookster!

Oh my gosh! You've lost 15.4 lbs!! and maybe more since the 23rd! Good for you! Glad to hear you are feeling better. I am 2 months along since I've been banded and have had one fill. I've only lost 20 lbs. But, I'm not worried about it, I'll concentrate on losing around 8 lbs a month. I've got about 60 to go now. I still burp ALOT!!! Sometimes just out of nowhere, up it comes!! I just hope I'm not in a meeting sometime when it happens!! ha!ha!ha! My boss thinks it is really funny! She laughed until she cried one day because I burped like a man in a burping contest -- and believe me, I have never been one of those people that had long burps! ha! So, the gas is normal and like the others have told you, walking is the best way to help it come up. I'm walking about 1 hour a day now, after work. Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
