Bfast: 1) pre-workout - Zone bar 2) post-workout Myoplex Lite shake

Lunch: 1 cup Bolthouse strawberry/banana smoothie, homemade cornbread, homemade chili with xtra lean ground beef

Snack: coffee with cream, banana

Dinner: 2 Vietnamese salad rolls with peanut sauce

Gonna have something else, too - currently the plan is either a Dairy Queen soft serve cone with a friend or dinner out (veal canneloni) with my boyfriend

Workout: 1-hr bootcamp

hey all! long time no chat! I'v been so out of it lately. but i seriously need to start tracking my food again. been eating way too many carbs!!!

6 mo out

B- 1 handful of dry Frosted Flakes, while getting kids ready for school. 2 cups of tea

L- small salad w/ ff ranch, chicken salad 3 oz, and pretzel crisps

D- nothing planned, but going to a cinco de mayo party tonight so i'll pick on something besides a margarita!

v- done

w- chugging along

e- none!

4 months out:

B - Fage yogurt and 2 strawberries and coffee

L - Mahi Mahi burger with 1/4 cup of sauteed cabbage

S - lite string cheese and carrots

D - Tilapia and salad

S - TBD

Vites - Done!

Water - working on it

Exercise - Zumba tonight!

Lunch: homemade fish taco (incl. mayo and avocado), coffee with cream

Snack: coffee with cream and a massive carrot/pineapple "loafer" from Cookies by George (kind of like a huge muffin). After losing 3 lbs without trying in less than a week, I decided maybe giving myself a bit more leeway with treats is not the worst thing

Snack: blackberries

Dinner: gonna have another fish taco or two

Workout: 1-hr bootcamp this am, mostly ab work

B - 5 mini-egg bites (from Eggface)

L - 1/2 c. ground beef topped with 5 tortilla chips and salsa

S - 3/4 c. Fage yogurt, 2%

D - Turkey sausage with mixed veggies, 3 bites of salmon

Exercise - Curves 30 minutes

4 weeks post-op

breakfast- one scrambled egg

mid-morning snack greek yogurt

lunch kentucky fried chicken original recipe could only eat 1/2 thigh, 2 bites of bun, and three bites of mashed potatoes

snack rest of thigh

dinner chicken leg and rest of roll

snack 1 oz portion of baked white fish seasoned cajun,garlic,onions, and shredded cheese.< /p>

gatorade as thirst quencher

I'll jump in here, I like these daily menu threads (lots of good ideas!)

B - 1/4 c southwestern egg beater omelette with 1 oz canadian bacon, a sliced mushroom, a little diced Tomato and 1/2 oz 2% shredded cheese

L - leftover chicken & mushrooms in garlic white wine sauce (about 4 oz total) and some sliced cucumber/tomato

afternoon snack - 1 oz 2% sliced sharp cheddar cheese

D - more leftover chicken & mushrooms in garlic white wine sauce (about 3 oz) and half a small baked potato with a little butter and light sour cream

Snack - half a peeled apple and a piece of leftover bacon

B- light Activia (4oz) with 2 tablespoons of Protein granola

S- light string cheese

L- 4oz chicken parmesan (breast) & 1 turkey wrap

S- 6 boiled shrimp

D- 6 boiled shrimp & 1 cup of kale

water-120 oz.

exercise- 45 minute full body workout

2 oreos, 1 small cinnamon sugar doughnut, 1 chips-ahoy ='(

greek yogurt, walnuts

L: chicken pickle roll ups, Protein shot

D: sauteed chicken, brussel sprouts

snack: pink lady apple

multivit, coq10, essential woman oils

Water (hot Decaf herbal tea)

      Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

        I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
