  9. Just my humble opinion: yes, I would have a baby ASAP. I have no children and at 38 I know the chances of having a healthy baby plummet around 35. Weight does complicate the matter greatly though, so it's a personal choice between you and your doctor(s). Keep us posted!!!! I wish you the BEST OF LUCK no matter what you choose.
  10. I'm glad you asked the forum. That's what it's for! I was lucky enough not to have a constipation problem. I wish I had some good advice for you. Perhaps the others will have more good feedback for you! I wish you luck!
  11. I'm so happy for you! What a momentous victory! You bring up an interesting goal. One I had not thought about. I will add it to my list: to change my weight classification from "severely obese" to "overweight". Thank you for the inspiration! I take it your mother has passed? If so, I'm sorry she can't be with you to experience your transformation, but I believe she is in your heart and knows...somehow...someway.

  17. Hey, I got one! I don't know if we;ve already touched on it, but I didn't see myself changing shoe sizes! I've lost 66 lbs and gone from a 7.5/8 to a 7.
  18. any opinions on the best tasting liquid calcium?
  19. I'm so surprised to hear about all the vomitting after surgery in the hospital. My doctor was so worried I would throw up post-surgery. He promised he'd do everything in his power to keep me from vomitting. I felt so comforted to hear that from him. I never threw up either. We tried 3 types of meds before one finally relieved the nausea, but it worked great. I'm so sorry anyone got sick after stomach surgery. I can imagine it was a special kind of hellish experience. So I guess the lesson learned is to ask our surgeons how they will handle post-op nausea treatement.

  21. I used to watch that show occassionally. I try not to watch any shows that deal with food prep or restaurants (with the major exception of Top Chef) now because they tend to make me feel like snacking/cheating. Poor, Adam. i had no idea he was having so many problems. I hope he finds his way to good health.
  22. I certainly don't envy your position. I wish I knew what to tell you. I like what everyeon has said so far; especially, MassIndex and Dorrie Robles. Keep us posted. Be strong and have confidence - even if you don't have any. Good luck!

  25. No tube for me either. I was lucky. I felt pretty prepared for the process thanks to this forum. This was my first major surgery. I was shocked how fatigued I was for the first month. I still get fatigued easily. I was warned though. I didn't realize how hard it would be to get my Protein (60 - 80g/day) and Water. Again, I was warned. I just had to go through it. Oh, the big one: I had a sudden case of serious cold feet about three days before surgery. I called my family for a sanity check and they helped pull me back from the ledge (cancelling the surgery). I'm so happy I did it!
  26. How wonderful! Best of luck! You're on your way! Wheeeeeeee!
  27. Sounds yummy! I can't have bread, pasta, potatoes, beans, rice and such until I lose 75% of my excess body weight. I'm close to 35% now.
