royboy got a reaction from Klee83 in Soooo, Anyone Else Feeling Cold Much Of The Time?
I've been cold since day 3 of my surgery. I was the guy that could sit on the ice all day with no gloves on, no hat and enjoy a balmy 30 degree day. Now I'm wearing long underwear, sweaters and still cold. Last nite I had the stove going and it was 86 in the living room and I had to have a blanket on.
Sleeve surgery has turned me into a wuss. LOL

well time has flown by in the past 6 months. Can't tell you how good I feel since surgery. Down to 208, from 316. 44 pants to 34 pants, 3xl shirts to xl all good. 34 pants are baggy and can fit in 32's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!been along time since I wore 32 pants. LOL No more insulin, bp meds, cholesterol meds, none! Feeling wonderful. I can jump, climb, run, anything I used to do back several years ago, before I got sick. If your thinking of this surgery? It's a true winner in my book, other than not doing any buffet's. LOL I'm amazed at how good I feel and you will be also. Good luck

Well it's been 4 months last thursday since my surgery and so much has changed. Lost 96 pounds so far, 3x shits to xl, 44 pants to 34, and the energy level is thru the roof. I still get sick when I eat or should I say feeling of upset stomach and sometimes I vomit, but other than that, I'm great! Wish I could of had this surgery 5 years ago. It's also fun to shop for new cloths. LOL

Well it's been 6 1/2 weeks since my sleeve surgery. I'm amazed at my changes. Down 60 pounds today!!!!!!!!!! Dropped 2 pant sizes, 2 shirt sizes and the energy level is thru the roof!!!!! I even cleaned the garage today because I was bored. been working every day on my truck from morning until nite also. I've gotten so much done lately. Couldn't have proven it by me at week 1-3. LOL Alot is changing. Off all Diebeties meds, High Blood pressure meds, Cholesterol Meds and only take a vitamin now. As of last Tuesday could have eaten steak, but haven't gotten around to it yet. LOL That's not me or that's not whom I was before surgery. I would rather of eaten a steak than done alot of things, not anymore. Going out for baked Haddock tonite, My new favorite food. Yummmmmmmmmmmm. My only complaint is about the restriction feeling or full, or whatever it is when I eat. Doesn't feel good to say the least. Feels uncomfortable after. Like I have gas in my stomach. But the lifestyle change that has come is truly amazing to me. I hope everyone here whom get's the sleeve feels as blessed as I do at 6 weeks out!!!!!!!!!

My first thought is why would you write this here? So your cheating and trying to reverse everything that you have accomplished so far? I think you need to see a counselor. I mean, what do you want anyone from this forum to say to you, that you haven't already heard or know.
There is nothing to say other than you need to see a professional about your problem.

royboy got a reaction from verysoon in Scared About Life After Surgery
I think all of us were apprehensive prior to surgery. We do the research, read the fail rates on leaks, and read the success stories. I'm 6 weeks post-op and the real learning came in the first two weeks after my surgery. I realized how much food played a vital part of my life. Always eating, family gatherings, evenings in front of the TV, everywhere. LOL
But the funny thing is that when your hurting and feeling bad, you start to realize how you got this way in a real sense. I could talk about being fat before the surgery and thought I understood why and how it happened, but when I ccouldn't eat what I wanted to, I realized the real problem and how much food controlled my life.
I miss being able to mow down a pizza or whole chicken, but now understand just what it was doing to me. Diabeties, High blood pressure, cholesterol thru the roof. But with the sleeve, it has given me the tool to stop those destructive habits. My Doctor gave me a wonderful little bit of advise. He said, "listen to what your body is telling you" I never had done that before. It works. I eat healthy foods now and the weight is falling off. You will do wonderfully well as you learn thru your journey of weight loss as all of us are also. Enjoy the journey!

royboy got a reaction from verysoon in Has Anyone Skipped The Puree Diet?
Why would you skip the puree diet? take any chances? Not follow the rules? This is what got you fat in the first place! the diet your Doctor has you on is for your protection and well being. Why would anyone risk their life for a piece of food? Call your doctor and talk to someone with the knowledge of what may happen if you fail to follow directions. It's only a couple of weeks of puree, before you move to soft foods.
I would never advise you to listen to someone on this board and do the opposite of what your Doctor has you doing!!!!
    Good luck!

royboy got a reaction from Lyra in Just Realized It's Been Two Months Sice My Sleeve!
Was reading some of the posts here and realized that it has been two months and 5 days since my sleeve. I almost forgot about the time that has passed. I'm down 68 pounds and feel great! I read alot of the posts about others whom are starting their jouney and feel the pain the anguish that so many go thru. The post surgery shock I call it. Seems that after my sleeve surgery, everything changed. No more huge meals, rotten snack eating and I felt like I was missing something. I kept telling myself it was a lifestyle change and as of this week, it has been. Hell, I forgot how long ago I was sleeved. I chose to eat healthy foods and excersie daily, not on a treadmill or elliptical or bowflex, as I have them, they work great for hanging wet towels on from the hottub, but now I get up and move with my life. I feelt that if I started on the machines, I would feel like I used too and just fall of the wagon as I hate to use them. Literally hate it. So now I just move. Be it working around the house, on my truck, others equipment, anything that keeps me moving inside my realm of thing I like to do. Build things, fix things, hunt, fish, etc. It's been a rough first month or so and smooth sailing since for the most part. I would do this again in a heart beat! Blood sugars are normal, high blood pressure gone and really feel like I was lucky to cheat out death at a young age.
I still have work to do on myself, but it's gotten so much easier that I can't beleive it's me anymore. When I was overweight and feeling terrible, I used to plan my moves in my head. Ok I'll walk here, but no further, need to rest some, ok lets do this again. i would purposely not do things that required alot of walking. Now I don't even think about it and just do it. Like it's effortless for me. Such a wonderful feeling to have again. I can't remember when I lost that years ago. I just know now that it's back and I want to keep it for the rest of my life.

I feel just as you do. I thought I did all the research, asked all the questions, follow the rules and then realized that I used food for a crutch, but didn't relize this pre-surgery. I found this out 2 weeks after. I now know why I was overweight, Alot of my life revolved around food. Every meal, every hard day at work or play, every social event, every time I sat at the puter, TV, etc etc It's been almost 6 weeks post-surgery now and still learning every day about what I did with food in my life now that it isn't their. And making changes to eliminate those bad behavior patterns.
Seems that now I have so much time on my hands that food made pass so much easier. it sure is a trip that life throws you. Good Luck on your journey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because someone paid big bucks for a sleeve, doesn't guarentee success!!! Watching what you eat and keeping track of your claories does!!!It's simple math, calories in, calories burned!
Most of us on here failed miserably at that in life and ended up sleeved!I see people on this site and others that lost 100 pounds then don't loose for a week and get frustrated and post it! They were already a BIG success loosing the 100 pounds!!!This isn't a race, this is a lifestyle. THATS WHY I POSTED MY FRUSTRATION ABOUT STALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So many people on here have accomplished so much already and seem not to see it.
