African American Sleevers

  • Popular Post

Hi All!

I wanted to start a thread for African-American sleevers (no worries I HEART all sleevers from the rainbow). I just thought, no scientific proof, that African-American sleevers may respond to the surgery different than our lovely non-African American sleeved sisters and brothers. I wanted to know if we had the same skin issue, hair problems, and other surgery related issues. Also, how to deal with the culture shock. African-American "soul food" may be something of the past... or not. So I was just looking for a space to voice culture related issues and concens.

PS- I TRULY  ALL SLEEVERS.

Getting in 80-90g of protein a day seems impossible right now.

How many weeks post op are you?

i found the protein shots with GNC called MuscleMeds Carnivor in power punch and orange

I'm just 4 days

At 4 days post op is hard if not impossible for some to get 80g of protein. Focus on liquids...try adding protein powder to warm liquids like broth, bullion cubes, diet hot chocolate this is my faborite. Add protein to diet juice if you want. Premier Protein ready made shakes are excellent in the beginning stages and each shake has 30g of protein so you can do 3 a day and get 90g. Protein shakes count as part of your total daily fluids. I drank 1 oz every 15 min of liquids at your stage. By end of day you will have all required liquids and protein.

i found them online just in case anyone else was looking for them http://pocketprotein.com/ also walgreens sales a protein shots online only and walmarts too...fyi

This are great taste ok it come in two favor and also have the one for men

Good question. What about popcorn or chips? When are you able to eat that? I'm craving buttered toast right now. It's driving me insane.

Five weeks can we eat peanuts or cashews?

My plan says no nuts.

I know my NUT told me I ccould have some Triskets crackers. At this stage I could only eat one. I shared my crackers with my youngings.

So today I notice my gas pains are subsiding. I was able to use the bathroom with no issues (tmi I know). But it seems I feel a stitch like type of pain now. I'm like well damn get rid of one pain there goes another. I took a pain pill this morning. Since surgery I've only taken 2 pills. Humm
