African American Sleevers

Recommended Posts

I am still in the challenge, however, I have not been doing my walking/exercising this week...but I am doing well with my food and lost an additional 5 lbs this week. This brings me to a total of 31 lbs lost since my surgery on 6/30/14 - so I am pretty excited about that...

I need to incorporate some kind of exercise regimen as I know I could have lost a lot more

Hi Friends I need your advice!

Over a week ago I started working out about 5 times a week. I have gotten more hungry since beginning that but Im still keeping my calories under 1,000. Usually they are 800-900 calls per day. Well I've been in a stall for a little over a week now - about the same time as I began exercising. What the heck is going on. Can I really stall because Im exercising or eating more even though my calories are still low????

I would try increasing your calories 1 day and changing your workout slightly. Your body maybe use to your routine.

Any time you up your workouts your body is going to react. Typically by holding onto the weight. At least for a little bit. You need to off set that by upping your calories/getting a bit more Protein and carbs. I always try to get up above 1000 calories on my workout days (It does not always happen, but I try). That seems to work well for me because since I've done that the losses have been steady.

Wow..I have never heard that before, but just to be on the safe side, I am taking Keratin Booster (I was taking them anyway) - I just started back taking them about 2 weeks ago...I LOVE these supplements!!

They say it starts in month three if it's gonna happen. .I am 3.5 months out. I've not noticed any unusual hair loss. I stopped relaxing my hair a few years ago, but my texture is not coarse/kinky, rather its fine and curly (or frizzy as my dad likes to call it). I do lose a lot of hair, but that is because I wear it curly and when I wash it after the gym or my swims its all matted and gnarled up and I have to really run my fingers through it to wash/condition. Today I flat ironed it and it looks the same as it always does. But I'm monitoring it closely!

I lost tons of hair about 3-6 mos post op. But I always lost hair after any serious stress. Physical or emotional. It all grew back but I just had a baby 2 mos ago so I expect some fall out starting maybe next month.

I was close to goal before having my baby and I was still curvy but I was soft even with working out I didn't have much muscle definition. I'm working on that this time.

Hi All, I am just reporting in for this week. This week was a hard week for me. I was going through this craving spell where I wanted things not good for me (my old emotional habits). I purchased these 100 calorie Lorne Doone.Even thought, I did go to the gym 4 times including this afternoon. I had great sessions with my trainer. I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
