Hello October Sleeve Brothers & Sisters....my surgery date was moved from Oct 23rd to the 30th. I'm not upset because I got a better secondary surgeon (for my cyst removal, dual procedure) my Bariatric Surgeon is pleased and so am I. 7 more days won't be so bad, better feeling comfy and safe. So to all my Oct 30th peeps...we got this!! I did all of my Pre-Op testing today and I have no Pre-Op diet so I'm ready..even bought me some new pillows today for when I come home. So Excited!!!!!!!

Just watching yesterdays Biggest Loser episode and I cried like a baby...it may sound crazy but in some way I feel like by planning on getting sleeved I'm cheating. But I've tried so many things and failed so I know having surgery will permanently change my life and weight issues..I just feel sad when I see others lose traditionally

Hello everyone. Im up this morning trying to wrap my mind around my slow loss. Im 6wks post op (sleeved 9/10)and Ive lost only 15 pounds since preop. My doc told me I have 60 more pounds to go but this is really slow. Since 2011, my grand total for weight loss is 42 pounds. I definitely feel better but I dont know what I am doing wrong. I feel restriction in my tummy and still get constipated a lot. I take MOM, all Vitamins and Fiber supplements, exercise, and eat very little. I havent had juice, sweets, rice, pasta or much of anything. I eat a boiled egg for Breakfast or 5 bites of grits/scrambled eggs. For lunch, a small piece of meat or few shrimp. Snack...boiled egg and dinner some type of meat and maybe a few bites of mashed potatoes. I finish all meals by 7 pm. Im not even eating 700 or 800 calories a day. Im considering going bk to liquids for some meals. I just dont know what to do anymore...

:(

I am a slow loser. takes me weeks to lose a few pounds and if I'm not careful I'll gain it all right back. Question. in the past what has worked for you? I know when I increase the amount of veggies and salad my desire to snack goes down and I lose. Also.. in the past I lost lots of weight on Atkins ( gained it back ) .. so now that I've been sleeved, I eat Protein first, and very little carbs. I don't eliminate carbs, that's just too hard. But I do watch the carbs carefully. Another suggestion that has worked for others ( not me for some reason ) is to increase the amount of Water. Are you getting in the recommended amount of water?

Thanks for your response. I increased my water and calorie intake to 700 today. Im somewhat doing atkins..protein and very little carbs. Im stuffed already and haven't eaten dinner yet. Trying to eat b4 7 pm every day. I think I only did 300 calories somedays. Some say there are different ways to trick your metabolism. Im wondering how can I trick mine. Lol!

Ok my sleeve family I want to know is anyone having issues with the scale at home being different than the one at the doctor? I have been doing really good and I went in today and it showed different than Saturday. I really hope I did not gain 4 pounds when I have not done anything different. I am not giving up but boy that made me feel a little sad. But I am now able to create my menu with all the thing I am use to doing while I was on WW. I just won't be able to eat all the food on the plate and much smaller sizes. I am in phase 3 regular diet.

What I do is go by my scale at home because that is where I weigh myself the most. When I have a dr appt. I weigh at home that morning and the compare what the scale at the dr measures. I also take in to consideration what time of day I go to dr and what kind of clothes I have on.

I think I remember the nutristionist say wait at least an hour apart to take Calcium and multi. To make it easier for me I take 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening.

Hi, I am a slow loser also. I was sleeved july8th. And have lost 33 lbs so far. Starting wt 240. I get extremely frustrated when I think about how slow this has been even with exercise. My doc told me to expect this since I am a lapband revision. I'm told that the body figures out what you are trying to do and interprets weight loss at this level as starvation. Your body will hold on to weight Water etc. until you increase your Protein and calories to a level where the body feels starvation is not your plan. I'm finally averaging 600-900 calories daily and 60-80 grams of protein. Doc says 90 grams of protein is the target. Then don't forget to add resistive training which increases your metabolism and keeps you from burning your muscle up instead of fat. If you burn muscle instead of fat your metabolism will slow and your weight loss will stop and weight gain becomes easy.

Yes...the last two days I added calories up to 650-750 calories per day. I also bought two gladiator smoothies each day which is 45g per small cup. The gladiator has been saving my butt. The last two days I reached 76 plus in protein and close to 700 calories...almost 6 wks post op. Thanks for the support.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
