Any December Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Well I went in for my preop today and they had to move my surgery date from Dec 3rd to Dec 6th. I was a little upset but nothing I can do about it. I saw the dr and the nurse practioner and well I guess I am all set for the 6th. I got my rx for Zofran, was told I need to get Pepcid Complete and pretty much know what to expect.

My surgery date is December 7th. Anyone scheduled on or near that date? I figure I'll be able to decorate the house and do my shopping beforehand, then be in pretty good shape by the time Christmas rolls around.

I just got my date today and I am December 7th as well!! So excited :D

I'm scheduled for Dec 1, I have done my shopping online this year and we will decorate right after thanksgiving, so that way I can just focus on healing.

Hi Stacy,

Great to hear you are another December 7th sleever. You, Angie and I are the only ones on that date I believe so far--hope I haven't missed anyone. I just had my final doctor visit yesterday and alll I need to do is a two day liquid diet before surgery. I will be decorating and shopping like crazy during the week after Thanksgiving so I can rest up and enjoy the holiday. Keep us updated on your progress.

Anne

Hi!

My surgery is Dec. 27 in San Diego. It still seems a ways away but I know the time will fly. What are you doing to prepare for surgery, as far as stocking up on foods, Vitamins, Protein Shakes, etc?

who is your surgeon? my surgeon is Dr.Zorn and my date is December 30th. You will be leaving as I will be coming in. Prayers be with you...

I am also having surgery on the sixth. I will say a little pray that your goes well. I am not looking forward to the month of December but the months to follow will be great! My husband keeps reminding me that next year I will be a loser. Ive tried to lose weight for ten long years and next year I will lose FOR GOOD!

Good luck to you. Hope to hear from you soon.

I am scheduled for the 7th of December as well. So excited! I am a full time college student and wanted to schedule the surgery in between semesters. So glad to meet so many fellow sleevers who will share this experience on the same day!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
