Thirtysomething's

Hi! I saw that they started a "twentysomething" thread and I thought that was a great idea!

I would like to meet others who are around my age to learn from, chart progress, make friends, etc.

I would also like to know things like when you had your surgery, where, weight loss, age related bandster issues (if any) etc.

I'll start: I'm 33 (will be 34 on date of my surgery in 2 weeks) Married mother of 15 & 16 year olds. I live in Ventura County, CA.

Going to Mexico to have Dr. Joya band me on the 26th!

Thank you!

Hey!

I too am a 30 something (BARELY). I just turned 39 -- can't believe THAT! I live in the Boston area and I have 4 kids under 7 including a set of 5 year old twins. I run a part time curriculum enhancement business for the preschool set and we have a 9 year old pug. I have been married 8 years to the best guy ever. I've known him since he was 3 years old-- actually, I used to baby sit him. Yes, I know that sounds dirty, but it's not! So glad I got the band, and in just 4 short pounds I will be at my pre-kid weight! Go thirties1 Go thirties!

Hi!

I am 36 and Rick Springflied and most members of Duran Duran were all I lived for in the 80's! Oh and Merry Go Round for my "new wave/punk girl clothes" - thought I was so cool!

I own a pr company where we specialize in events, product launches, nonprofits, etc.

I plan on not working much after I get banded in early July. I want to make my new job working our and eating right.

I do not have any children yet, but plan on trying to get pregnant sometime next year.

I am currently cleaning out my closets and donating all of my clothes. I have been collecting a few catalogues of skinny girl clothes to use for motivation. I cannot tell you how behind the times I felt when I saw all the fabulous clothes available!

I look forward to corresponding more with y'all in the next few months!

I got my surgery date. July 27th. I guess that gives me 3 weeks to PIG OUT! hahahahaa. What kind of stuff did you guys eat during your last supper syndrome???

My date was so close to approval that I only had one night before pre-diet. I wanted pizza hut, but it was so crowded, so I got a calzone from a local pizzaria! Not too exciting, but the best I could do on short notice.

I had a GREAT plan....I was going to be banded on the 27th of may...so I knew I was flying into MX on the 26th...Mexican food..the real thing!!!!!! Homemade tortillas and a the whole thing...I was gonna eat my last meal and make it a good one. So...I arrive in MX, get in the car, straight to the hospital!!!!!!!!! OH NO!!! ...yepp..I had nothing. I was so bummed.

Hi, I'm Mari, just turned 34YO last week. :fish: I'm a single mother of an 11YO daughter. Just had my band put on June 9th at Reston Hospital in Reston, VA. I am a Project Manager for an exhibit house and love lots of things.

So HOWDY!! :clap2:

I can SOOOOOOOO relate, Meow!! I am right there with you:eek: I am 434 lbs :tsk: and my goal is 200 or less. I am also looking into creative financing so if you get some, send 'em my way! :biggrin1: Have you decided on a doc yet? I am going to Dr. Joya in PV, but haven't even started talking with him yet. I need to sell my car and find a money tree somewhere :( . Know anyone that wants a cute Scion XB? :D

The better question is what DIDN'T I eat?!!?!?! Terrible....think I gained 10lbs before the surgery....but lost it plus more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless,

MElody

Banded 3/20/06 -52lbs
