My surgery is set for October 4th and worse my preop physical is set for 3 days from now. I have been struggling to keep at my goal weight all summer and now I am 3 lbs over! I think I might actually be sabotaging myself. For a bit of history--My top weight last year was 261. I went through all the steps for surgery and dropped to 218 on my own within 4 months. In fact, I was so successful that my surgeon talked me out of surgery.
Of course, I have crawled back up and when I hit 253, I went back to the doctor for a new surgery date. But this time, he canceled my surgery (was set for June 4th) because I developed iron deficient anemia due to years of heavy periods. This knocked me into a bit of depression, which I have eaten my way through as usual!! HA.
Now that my anemia is under control due to some horrid shot they gave me which has thrown me into artificial menopause, (HELLO hotflashes!) I am back on the surgery schedule. BUT I have been fighting my goal weight and have only been below it once this summer (for my weigh in). They will cancel me if I cannot pull off these few pounds in the next few days. Could it be the menopause? I have been on about the same diet as the one which last year worked so well. Anyone else have this problem? Suggestions? I wish I could just tape my mouth SHUT!
