All of a sudden, I'm a wimp?

Recommended Posts

Pfftt, When I told my BF that I was having surgery, he moved right along to the next topic of conversation and when I was home recovering/on vacation for 3 weeks we talked once on skype. He and I are both deployed, he is a soldier, and he redeployed back to the states during that time. I can appreciate what a hectic time redeployment is, but to not even comment on "I'm having surgery" in a conversation ... needless to say, he is not my BF any longer. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack ...

Tiff, could it be that the underlying subconcious issue here is the fact that he wasn't there for you when you faced death? You both know he couldn't help not being there - in your rational brains. But in the emotional brain, maybe he is trying to compensate?

Tiff,

My husband is still sitting while watching me lift 55 pounds of dog food! But my surgery was 8/17/10 so we will see if there are changes ahead. I can't even imagine him treating me as if I were fragile!

It sounds like there has been several changes in your lives and as long as you are communicating your thoughts and feelings you are on the right track. It may take a little while for the adjustments to feel just right.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
