Howdy folks!

I've been in the process with Kaiser Richmond for 15 months. Dr Fisher wants me to lose 84 lbs from my orientation weight. I saw him after 1 year of my pre-op diet. He said I shouldn't care that it's been a year without a surgery date. Ugh. Since that appt I've stalled in a major way. Now I'm going to see about switching to SSF and switching from band to sleeve. I keep hearing great things about Dr Alami, so I'm hoping for him.

YAY! Another local Sleeve Sister. Let us know how it goes with Dr. Almani!

Hi Heather & Becca, glad to see you two switched over to the sleeve side! I am like Lee, I love my sleeve!

Hi to all the other new comers, I just glanced through as I loged on and the group is getting big :)

I have been so busy with my post sleeve life that I forget alot what good support from you all means to me. So I am gonna try and log in more!

Lee & Stacey, how are you two!

Ashley, you're doing great. Look at how fast your weight is going down down down!

Hi all,

I just had the six month follow-up, with Kaiser in So. San Francisco. I was a little non-plussed. There was lab work for everything imaginable under the sun, but they didn't really cover it very well, IMHO. This was a group meeting with the dietician, and an MD. There is supposedly a three month meeting, but many of us did not get the invite. Although I did have a 3 month followup with my surgeon Dr. Le. I was surprised that almost half the group had the bypass. I am so happy I did not take that route. I had a stall for almost two months, but I finally started losing again. 5 lbs, this last week. So for any of you who get stalls, don't worry, you will get through them. This was my second stall in six months. I am glad I did not worry and had faith in the process. It was this forum that helped me not to worry. Our bodies change alot after this procedure. Alot of us at six months out have been feeling fatigued. It's normal. Our bodies, like I said, have been going through alot. We were giving the warnings about snacking. Snackings fine if you make sure your not adding back those calories, and grazing. My snack is popcorn, and I was given hell for it being a waste. But, screw them. I have given up everything. I am going to eat my popcorn Snacks. They are low in calories and they count as my bad carbs for that day. I only have them a couple times a week.

Anyway, the best luck to you all on your journey.

Hugs,

Les

HEY everyone!!! I am doing so great! I have lost 70 total and I feel so amazing!!!!!!!!! LIFE is so great! I cant say ONE thing bad about the sleeve. BEST THING I EVER HAVE DONE!!!!!!:001_smile:

That is awesome chrissy! Les, I am so glad you arr doing well. I go under the knife in one week. Can't wait!

 Hi Eeveryone, I was on the LBT forum and took about a year to decide after orientation in Richmond if the bariatric option was for me and I am now ready to make the change.

Apparently a lot has changed in a year. i was set on the band and now I am reading stuff saying that Richmond is no longer offering it? Seems like I will be having to research the sleeve now.......

I will be going to the Point West meeting next weekend if anyone from this forum will be there.....

You sound just like me...I am set on the sleeve now too.

Chrissy how exciting, I hope I can get the surgery soon and lose that much as well ;)

Thank you Becca!! My name is Shannon - I think I forgot to put that in my original post. Anyway, i have been researching non-stop the last couple days about the sleeve and it seems that everyone is so happy with it after the adjustment period and my favorite thing that I've heard so far is that you can (and actually prefer) to eat fruits, veggies and meats. That makes me even more excited because that is how I like to eat anyway - I just have horrible portion control. So you haven't had the surgery yet? Where are you on your journey and are you going through Richmond too?

Welcome Becca and Shannon!

Well, tomorrow is the day for me. I am excited and a little nervous. My husband and I are driving down tonight and staying at a hotel so I will be close by tomorrow since I live in Santa Rosa. I have so much to get done that I know the day is going to fly by. Wish me luck!

Good Luck!!! Saving a place for you on the Loser's Bench. Let us know how you're doing please. :scared0:

Right on Cherice, let us know how you are doing (as Lee said). I am so excited for you!! Good luck - hugs!! :001_tongue:

Hi Chrissy – Miss you!

Lee- How are you doing?

Cherice- I hope your surgery went well!

Shannon & Becca- The sleeve is well worth it! Ask away!

I am doing well, still losing, and at a pace that is good with me. I have not had the energy or motivation to exercise and I have plenty of excuses. Also I am snacking a lot, eating things that are not on the plan. I definitely need a support meeting ASAP! lol.
