Anyone sleeved after they have had a baby?

Hi, my name is Angie. I'm a 34-year-old mommy of a beautiful one-year-old girl. My question is about surgery after giving birth. Has anyone had vsg while caring for a baby or very young child?

I'm wondering about things like how that will affect my recovery, when I will be able to pick her up etc., and resume all the physical tasks that having a very little one entails. I'd love to hear from anyone who has gone through this.

Thanks!

i am a band to sleeve patient.

when i had the lapband surgery, my son was about 17 months old. i just had the sleeve on the 15th and my son is now 3 1/2.

with both procedures, i couldn't lift anything greater than 15lbs for the first 2 weeks. and then 30lbs for weeks 3-4.

i did have someone help me when i had the band since my son was at an age where he still needed to be picked up at times.

however, now that's hes older, i dont need as much help with him. he's big enough to do most things by himself (potty, get in the tub, get in bed, etc).

if you're going to have surgery, i would sugguest you have someone around to help you anyway. babies dont understand they cant climb up on you like before. you dont want to get hurt.

good luck in your journey!
