Welcome! I don't really have any advice for you as I haven't been sleeved yet. But, I wanted to welcome you. I get sleeved 4 days before you and am so ready for it.

bring something loose to wear home, sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk and be kind to yourself and rest. I think the fluids are very important and unflavored Protein helped me, although you dont need to stress over protein at first, it helped me heal, I'll be a month post op this Saturday. I love the sleeve. You'll do great just make some broth or buy egg drop Soup and crystal light popsicles.:)

Hi and welcome

I'm in on 10th June, so just behind you.

I'm using this time to get as fit as possible before the op - I start my 7 day pre op diet next Thursday, and have started to take some Biotin to try and minimise hairloss (I'll do anything on that account!! LOL).

I've also made and frozen a batch of broth, and one of blended chicken Soup to help prepare ahead. I'll be doing a full house clean before I go in as well as all the usual washing and ironing.

And I have begun to practise other things like smaller plate for my meals, smaller mouthfuls, chewing more, trying not to drink with meals (find that hard).

Good luck with your op

Kathy

Glad you joined us. I had my surgery 8 weeks ago today. I've lost 40 pounds and already feel like a new person. I'm sleeping better, walking with less pain, have more energy, and am off all prescription medications! The first advice I would offer you is to stay connected to the members of this board and you will have a wonderful resource for getting information and making your sleeve a great experience. Second, plan to take it easy as much as possible after your surgery, I felt tired and weak for several weeks. Don't try to eat too much too soon--follow the plan. liquids may seem like forever, but they aren't, and being conservative with your food choices will allow your stomach time to heal. Take your time and get lots of fluids. I love my sleeve!

hey mommy,

i think we may have our broods of kid in common! 4 is busy! i was sleeved in March and I'll just state the obvious... try to be sure you have help with the kids. you will need to rest and it is a bit cumbersome moving around in the beginning. are your kids young? i was fortunate enough to have my aunt here staying for a while. my husband was around but had to work. be sure to ask any questions you may have, this site has been very helpful!

Look under the Forums link and scroll down the page. You will find a link that takes you to instructions on how to put the weightloss ticker on your signature. Even gives you pictures of how to do it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
