I love water -- again!

Recommended Posts

Whew!

I really thought I would have to drink sweet stuff for the rest of my life as after surgery, Water tasted simply, awful.

Now, I'm 3 weeks out and water is now a beautiful thing again.

For me, it was just a matter of waiting it out a bit and I hope this is all it takes for anyone.

Cheers!

Just goes to show how different everyones body is. Water is tasting good to me again, I hate the sweet water now. I am 9 days out and blessed. Everything is coming along really good. The doc did a great job, loosing weight, not sick, loosing appetite after I eat/drink, and today feeling really really stuffed after 6oz of cream Soup. It made so even pizza on tv commercial did not look good after it has been driving me nuts for 4.5 weeks, since preop diet. I wish everyone would go so well. I almost feel guilty. Maybe mines coming..

I am 6 weeks out and Water is finally starting to be tolerable to. I can do the sugarfree powerade's like they are nothing, but plain Water has been horrible till just a couple of days ago. It tasted bad and felt like it got stuck right before it entered my stomach. Really strange, and I liked water pre surgery.

It's great to hear from you all!

I've found something that I love. It's made by Pepsi and it's called "Aquafina plus+ Vitamins 10 Cal". First, it is a great low calorie substitute for Water. Second it has 120% of the Vitamin C and Vitamin B12 we need everyday.

Here, it's not that easy to find. I get mine from the local gas station!

Cheers to everyone!

Congrats! on your surgery and your great recovery!

Please don't feel guilty :001_tongue: I think it's terrific that you have (and hopefully, everyone has) these small wins to keep us going. Concentrating on the positive is just so very important.

I'm really lucky that I can drink a lot of liquids so I'm not dehydrated, at all. First, it kind of scared me but now I'm grateful for it. liquids don't fill me up. But, mushy stuff? I can't eat more than 4 oz. in 1/2 an hour. Whew! Now I know it's working!

Keep on going! You're doing great!

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones too... I haven't stopped loving water! I drank it like CRAZY before surgery and now I still love it (nice and cold with ice cubes!) and I sip it all day long!:001_tongue:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
