We were at a wedding reception tonight and I coughed. Not a big or violent cough and I felt something pop on my left side. MAN IT HURT! Now I have to be careful how I move. Can't do anything that stretches my left side. It's right under/next to my ribs. What should I do? I took some tylenol and put some heat on it. Any suggestions? (No swelling or anything sticking out - thank goodness.)

If I were you, I'd just contact my surgeon to let him know. He may do nothing and just want to take a watch and wait approach, but I still think it's a good idea. He may have had a previous patient that went through the same thing and be able to offer some advice.

The body is such an amazing thing! After a good night's sleep, my pain is 100 times better this morning. Hard to believe after the pain I was in last night! I can move again without it hurting. Plan to take it easy today and do nothing more strenuous than cheering on the Cowboys!!

Anna,

No fun. Glad it wasn't a sneeze. Might give Bea a call, but I remember that early on, Theresa posted that she was told that there might even be some "popping." So glad you are feeling better. I would be scared to death to hear a "pop."

Just curious y'all, Dr. Davidson (Dallas) is doing my surgery June 11th. I've got family to spend the first week with, and after my one week post-op visit we've got a beach house in Galveston for my 2nd week of recovery. How will I feel? I know we are suppose to walk as much as possible, but how much WILL I feel like walking and doing? I'm just curious, will I be resting a lot or will I be able to walk some on the beach and enjoy our trip? On week two, will I still be on Clear Liquids or full liquids? Is every doctor different? If so, is anyone here familiar with Dr. Davidson? I know there are a couple of his patients that I've seen 'around'. :) Thank you in advance!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
