Hello everybody! Let me introduce myself, My name is Tiffany. I am scheduled to be sleeved next year. This is my first post and unfortunately I am not getting off on the right foot because I believe this may be in the wrong forum category. I am sorry if it is....I am sort of an idiot you know lol...

This could get graphic lol. The skin in between my upper thighs I have noticed is a completely different color than the rest of pale pasty me. Now I am being treated for hypothyroidism, which they say a symptom is skin discoloration. Really though, every since I have been young, I cant remember a time my thighs didnt touch, even when I was a normal size. I think that is playing more of a role in it than my disorder. I guess my question is, did anybody else suffer from this before they lost their weight and did it improve upon weight loss?

Any Input Appreciated,

Tiffany

I have a little bit of darker skin on a small portion of both of my thighs.

From what I've heard from several super morbidly obese patients that suffered from severed discoloration, the best "cure" is to exfoliate with a real lemon sugar scrub (you can make it yourself). It can dry the skin so make sure you moisturize as well.

Some people say that they have to do it every day for several weeks before they saw results. Depending on the severity, you may see results faster.

1 cup of water

1-2 cups of sugar (it will depend on how grainy you want it)

1 cup of lemon juice

1/4 cup of extra virgin light olive oil

I exfoliate with a bath and bodyworks sugar scrub twice a week.

It's just caused by the skin rubbing together in that area.

I too have the skin discoloration in my thighs and always assumed it was from my legs rubbing together like Cajun said. I've been thinking about exfoliating like Tiffykins mentioned, but so far the skin there is still discolored.

On a side note, welcome to VST! Everyone here is very nice and supportive so don't worry so much about posting in the right forum, etc. This is the first message board I've ever participated on and I've always felt very welcomed.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
