slight setback

Well, I am 8 days out and everyting about being sleeved is great-clear liquids are still going down fine, incisions look good, no head hunger, staying hydrated, and then the bottom falls out of my plans. My meniscus of right knee that I injured about a month ago decided to tear while I was going down the stairs today. :cursing: I can not put any weight on my right leg at all. I have a PCP appt on Monday that was supposed to be to check on my asthma but now looks like I will have to be seeing about scheduling surgery for knee repair. I am bummed because this will delay my getting back to the gym and might slow my weight loss. But, at least it waited till after I got home from Mexicali and for that I am extremely thankful.:001_wub:

Norma,

I am so sorry for your knee problems, but hope everything will work out for your total health recovery and be on your way soon. Congratulations on your weight loss and know we are here for you. Remember keep pumping your foot on the immobile leg to keep that blood going!

Knee surgery is next Tues (12/15/09) at 10:00 am. I am supposed to be in the hospital for 3 or 4 days, then home with PT daily for 2 weeks. Surgeon is saying I will be off work for 6-10 weeks but he doesn't know me--I am stubborn and don't like to be off work. I think I will be back to work in 4 weeks max. I can't wait for the pain to be gone. I get 2 days of morphine pump!!!!! I won't be able to post much until I get home as I don't think I want to try taking my laptop to the hospital and leaving it in my room while I go to PT daily.

Norma, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts through this procedure. I know you'll be up and at work way sooner than you're supposed to be ! ! !

Norma, You'll definitely be in my thoughts too. Hope for a speedy recovery!

Just think, while you're off work, you'll have more time to come to the chat room!

Norma-

Will be thinking of you... hopr every thing goes well and a speedy recovery. I don't think you'll be able to go back in 4 weeks tho... but you will be very happy with the knee replacement... I know I am!!

Keep us up dated on your progress!!

Norma - you will be in my thoughts and prayers - I will be looking forward to hearing about your progress as I know eventually (sooner than later) I am going to have to have bilateral knee replacements due to degenerative arthritis. Good luck with your PT -- I started mine yesterday - it wasn't so bad yesterday but man-o-man when I woke up this morning it felt like someone had tried to twist my arm off!

Keep us posted as soon as you are able to do so!
