Surgery in 2 days!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I am having my sleeve put in in 2 days. I am so nervous about it and cant stop being nervous. I have been on a liquid diet for 8 days now and even though it was hard I toughed it out. I am looking forward to my new life and cant wait to start losing all this extra weight. Thanks to this sight I have an idea of how it will be and I know it will not be easy but I am ready for it.

Can anyone give me any ideas on what things to take on my overnight bag?

Anything will help and any kind of support will be appreciated.

Wish me luck:crying:

Nice loose street clothes for coming home in as your tummy will be bloated, Your own pjs or gown and robe is nice, a magazine to riffle through, a notepad and pen to jot down things they suggest for you, a camera is nice, hairbrush, wash cloths, lip stuff (chap stick or gloss) Gas X strips, ask for meds there for acid reflux or soreness etc.

Extra panties to tuck your tube and pouch into, slippers or socks for walking around the floors with, a change of clothing for getting to the hospital and any outings afterwards.

Don't know where you are going or how long your stay will be but these are the basics I found I needed three weeks ago when I had mine done in Tijuana.< /p>

Relax, and enjoy the experience, you'll be just fine!

Cheeers,

Donna

Stoongal hit the nail on the head..... said about everything.

I brought my personal night gowns, but ended up just using the hospital gowns.

Only suggestion I could make was to take your measurments the night before- you will be amazed at the difference!! Keep a journal, with measurements, food experiences etc.

Will be thinking of you!

Hi and welcome! We are so happy to have you join us. Something else I took was a heating pad. It felt really soothing to lay it across my tummy and back after my surgery.

Carlouv - welcome to VST, we're glad we're able to help you out and will be here after your surgery to help you with any questions you may have. If you check out the thread "Dr. Aceves Information" there is a post of a list of things recommended to bring with you - that added to Stoongal's list, and of course the beloved HEATING PAD, will probably give you as a complete list as possible.

I was so glad to have my heating pad too. I only took one pair of shoes...my crocs, and wore them there. Great for showering, non skid on the floors, easy to slip in and out of. No need to pack more shoes. I took some comfy socks, and my own PJ's.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
