PaperBullets,

I hope all went well today and you are recovering nicely. Please let us know.

Dr. Yoo is my doctor too. I haven't yet decided if I am doing a band to sleeve revision yet. When you feel better, please PM me with your thoughts and experiences.

Thanks!

I went through Mission Weight Management in Asheville. Dr. Irani did my surgery one week ago today. They are amazing there. I am very pleased with my whole experience through them. They have some of the top surgeons in the state as well as doctors, nutritionists, physical therapists, and support staff. I really liked that Dr. Irani was a women. I didn't really matter at first, but I'm glad because now I feel more comfortable. I also saw Dr. Chris Edwards too and he's hands down one of the best.

Me too @ mission weight!! They are indeed fantastic!! When I called to tell them I called and had an approval from cigna I was crying sooo hard. She let me cry and was genuinely happy and thrilled for me. Saying this was the best part of her job. The surgeons at Regional Surgical are great. I have heard great about Dr. Irani. My mom worked in the OR with the others and was confortable with any of them, but I choose Dr. W. Allen Bradshaw. He is sooo great and understanding. I had my gall bladder removed by a surgeon no longer at his practice and he left sludge in me putting me back in the hospital for a week. Dr. Bradshaw took care of me then. Great bedside manor. And he's HOT!!! Haha! I'm getting sleeved Aug 22. Excited!!

Hi, Dr. Adolfo Fernandez at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston Salem will be doing my sleeve. He did my band placement ! He is awesome and has a wonderful and comprehensive team ! They are a blue cross blue shield center of excellence too so I know that helps with some insurance approvals. Hope this helps dde01

Considering dr. Fernandez myself but haven't heard a whole lot on him. He's close to home for me.

I am 3 weeks post op with Vilanuejva. I see him in Ballantyne with Carolinas Weight Management. I absolutely love him and the staff. He has been great to work with and no, he doesn't send you home with a drain.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
