eyeballing food example pic plz

Recommended Posts

ok ok this is going to sound a bit silly but i was wondering if there was anyone out there who has been sleeved for awhile that would be willing to put a pic of there dinner plate up so us youngsters can actually *see* how much you are actually eating.

It would have to have a hand or someting like that under/near the plate to get a correct size. I would really love to see how much the vets of this site are actually eating. (just to get an idea. at least then we have something to go by, like a starting point. vets eat "this much" soooo i can start with half of it (just for example i guess, like a bouncing point)

cheers & thanks.:001_smile:

I love this idea as well because I am 2 months out, and I can eat 2-4oz depending on what I am eating. I think about a year from now will I really be able to eat somewhat normal. Because, 3 -4 bites of a chicken breast is just not "normal".

I can do it but I've already eaten for today. :biggrin0: I'll try to remember tomorrow.

I try to picture one of those itty bitty cans of chicken salad. I know one of those works well for me. If I were to chop up solid meat,

it would have to fit into one of those cans. Anymore than that, and I am foaming and sliming and miserable.

I will be glad to see Mac's picture.

What exactly is this foaming? I haven't had surgery yet but don't really understand what "foaming and sliming" are? It doesn't sound real pleasant

Thanks for the imput girls...and mac.... thankyou so much. its hard when you guys talk about size in oz as i just have NO idea about the oz. or the cans of chicken salad??? we dont have them here in Aus. I bought these little plates that are actually tart shells (about the size of your palm with the fluted edge) i tryed eating from a bread and butter plate, but found myself overloading it. at least with a smaller plate the chance of overload is going to be less! again girls...its just a bouncing point!

Thanks again Mac. i look fwd to seeing the pic

It's when you eat too much (or sometimes too fast) and your body produces more saliva to help digest the food - there isn't room for the food and the extra saliva so it backs up into your mouth and you slime or foam ... it's quite unpleasant.

Great topic...

I found the the world accorinding to egg on my face blog...THIS IS AN AMAZING BLOG and she provides a lot of stuff.

I was looking for the same reason for lunches and found this..

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Zojirushi-Bento-Stainless-Steel-lined-Silver/dp/B000246GSE/ref=pd_sbs_op_18]Amazon.com: Zojirushi Mr. Bento Stainless-Steel lined lunch Jar, Silver: Kitchen & Dining[/ame]

this lunch box would hold all my meals for the day....because it's stackable, Soup for lunch on the bottom, snack in the next etc...

I ate dinner tonight...blended up some Soup and had 1 spoonful to much...I over ate. Now mind you, I had 6 total...I'm having to adjust my perception of "normal"...I didn't eat normal portions before, now I have to really take these measurements to heart...what did I learn today ...note to self, when eating clam chowder only warm up 5 spoonfuls...

Hope this helps....

I'm working on the pictures, guys... it's been hard though for various reasons. I will post them when I have a week's worth, I think.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
