I know what you mean about posting stuff online. But you can always post something and then take it down 24 hours later. There is less chance of something happening that way.

I remarked that I hoped that YOU would post one of your pics that Bob took of you. I dont have access to your personal pics nor would I put one of you by yourself without your permission. I will post a group photo or two but I do have more personal integrity than to post someone else's personal stuff!

You two are too nice ... we enjoyed the weekend alot and it's always nice to have company ... you didn't mention having to put up with the dogs ... poor Ruthi had to share her "bed" with 3 dogs! Glad you both had a great time!

Shhhh I dont think they know they are dogs. I liked having them with me they are too cuddly.

Ruthi, I didn't say you would post one without my permission. I said it's okay if you post a group one, but I am not sure if want to post mine. Like Mac said, maybe (if I can figure out how to do it) I'd put one up and then take it back down. I have to see them first. I know you guys said I looked good, but I am very critical of myself. I never think I look good.

One of the main reasons I don't want my picture on here is I share things in here that I don't share in support group. I feel more anonymous here and I think it would be embarrassing to me for people in support group to read everything I write in here. At least if they read it, they don't exactly know it's me.

Went to counseling today and we discussed the death of my husband, the death of my fiance, and my dad's recent death. We also discussed my low self esteem and where that comes from.

It's amazing how the things that we were told as children shape our brains as adults

to the point that it's really hard to change.

I wish I could afford to go every day. Change does not happen instantly. It was nice to have them validate some things for me .

That's great, Daisy! I didn't realize you had lost a husband and a fiance. That must be rough.

My underwear is falling down.

I walk around pulling up my underwear. I don't want to waste money on undies that I won't wear for years (I am not one to give up on undies just because they have a little wear). Do you know how hard it is to walk through a store when your undies have slid past the bottom of your butt? If I wore skirts or dresses I would be in serious trouble.

Saftey pins? Hey that might be a good idea.........

Wayyy funny, I still have undies in many sizes along with Jeans of many sizes, shirts of many sizes etc. All due to many yrs of losing weight and gaining it back, I could be the next thrift store.

Well if you guys want something funner and to add to my clothing misery all my pants are problems.

I have lost 20 or so lbs and the pant crotch is now way below my crotch. I don't know how else to describe it. It does not matter how much I cinch my belt the crotch will not hike up. This adds to my problems when my underwear falls down because as I walk it slips off my butt and into that void that the low slung crotch pants create. The front of my undies stays up but not the back.

I don't know if you can visualize this but if you see a woman walking around holding up her undies or has a weird mass of balled up something in her bottomless crotch area, it is most likely me.

That is too funny. Must look like you are wearing depends or extra padding.

If you have a sewing machine, you could put in some seams. LOL

I found a Protein Drink that I can tolerate for the moment. Muscle milk pre-mixed drinks, vanilla creme. It may not last, but I'm going to enjoy it while I can.

Also, I've fallen in love with beef Jerky. I can chew it to mush, and it's full of Protein. I need to steer clear of it too often due to the sodium content, but I was so glad I was able to eat today.

I like muscle milk light RTD. It's my favorite.

I have tried all their flavors cause they sell it at my gym. I like the choc. and vanilla. The others are yucky.

I always made sure I had two bras that fit. You look so much better in your clothes with a well fitting bra. I also made sure I had two pairs of pants that fit too.

Anyway, my new scale came!! It says I have 9.5% body fat. Hmm. Not sure I believe that. I'm going to ask for a Dexa scan at my 1 year PCP check up and see how it compares. But it says my left leg is more muscular than my right and I believe that.

OMG - I was dying laughing reading this ... here's an idea ... just don't wear any panties ... the you won't have to worry about them falling off!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
