I will admit I like my diet mountain dew- trying to wean myself from drinking it to a noncarbonated choice. I big problem will be decaff coffee -- I love my coffee in the morning!!!

I finally weaned myself of diet mt. dew. that was sooo hard. I'm with you i LOVE coffee. I never even drank the stuff until I was 32. Now I'm addicted.:drool5: I did stop the Creamer last week. Someone had posted that they put some of their EAS Protein drink in their coffee. It's no vanilla caramel but it was pretty good.

I had a similar experience in the support group. The leader was very interesting but one lady wouldn't let anyone else get a word in! There always seems to be that one person in a group.

Hi,

I think that there are some people who are NEVER going to change their eating habits. And we have to realize that we can't save everyone who has had WLS. If they are in these classes they really need to be there, but I am not sure they are going to hear what is being said. You have to really want to be healthy, along with the weight loss.

I think we can tell them what we know and have learned, but I have learned that no matter what you say or how you say it--some people just aren't willing to listen to you. Soda is really bad for you, and depletes the Calcium from your body. The carbonation isn't anything that we need at all, so for me who use to love it, just said what do I want more? For me after spending that much money, I want to be healthy and to lose the weight too. The sleeve is a tool that allows me to achieve the weight loss and have a health body. This fat just didn't melt off of me, I had to work at it. I am eating good, and exercising too.

You are the only one who can make a difference in your life.

And, if I drink diet mountain dew it cancels out the calories of whatever I eat with it!

I saw a thing on tv once that mountain dew is the worst soda you can drink. There is something in it that rots your teeth. They were showing these dentists working on people's teeth, and asking if they drank Mountain Dew.

I shouldn't say bad things about it. It's a Pepsi product and I have stock in Pepsi.

They are now saying the same thing about coke. They say it eats the enamel off of your teeth.

I've heard that if you drop a nail into a glass of coke it will be gone in the morning ...that's scary - what's it doing to your innards if it can do that to a nail? Granted, I've never tried it; however have heard it more than once. (and I know that doesn't mean it's true!)

The nail in the coke thing is NOT true, maybe in hydrochoric acid but not coke. If it did that to a nail think of what it would do to your mouth esophogus and stomach.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
