When my mother recently saw me for the first time since my VSG, the first thing she said was "Don't lose ANY MORE weight!!! I can really see it in your face." I asked her what she meant, and she said my skin was much droopier than before my surgery. My sister said "Yeah, you'll need cheek implants girl!" WHAAT??

Now that I look at myself through their eyes, I can see what they mean. I'm starting to get those lines on the sides of my mouth, which I never had before. And don't get me started on my neck. The chicken wattle is there, though if I hold my head J U S T R I G H T you won't see it - ha!

As soon as my daughter gets out of college next year I'm thinking about using that money that now goes to tuition to visit the cosmetic surgeon for a little lift.

You and me both. I have heard of these lifestyle lifts that aren't supposed to be very expensive. I cut an ad out of the newspaper. I am going to call and find out about it.

Just done a quick google search on LSL and it's a bit worrying OregonDaisy. I would be very wary and do tons of research on your surgeon. There are a load of very unhappy people out there with their faces ruined.

I guess i'm just a bit weird or something but the WLS was my last surgery ever. . i have been blessed with no wrinkles, some loose skin, but heck if it bothers me i'll use duck tape! hehehehe. . . I agree with Jane, be careful when choosing your surgeon on these topics. . . good luck all!

I have been wanting some botox even before my surgery. Though I havent lost a ton of weight I already plan on Botox in November. It is my present to myself LOL. That and some juviderm.

I squint even when my sunglasses are on and I have two ugly lines between the eyes and I am getting crows feet. I am ready for the needles, bring em my way.

I take 3 before bed. Not taking any other skin stuff now, apart from nivea moisturiser.

I am still taking other supplements though just in case!

Yes I have some wrinkles but I am 53. I am trying to fill my arms out with muscle by going to the gym but they are not too bad. Face is bearing up OK. Stomach was wrecked by twin pregnancy, not much I can do about that, and my boobs were never particularly pert, all in all I am mostly happy in my skin! It was worse being fat and now I hav e admirers, some 20 years younger (/cougar) which is a great morale booster.

I gave up and had a face lift in Mexico. People say I look great but I don't know if I would do it if I knew what I know now. It's quite painful.

My face is completely numb and it will be 4 weeks soon. The surgeon said it could take 3 months to get the feeling back in my face.

I am 56 and scheduled for vsg next Wednesday, July 6th. I, too, am worried about wrinkles and 'turkey neck'. Today, I received a Groupon offer for 25 units of Botox at a local spa for half price. I've never had Botox before, but am considering this offer. This coupon expires in January, so if I wait until December to take advantage of it, I should have some weight loss and wrinkles that need to be addressed. Of course, Botox is not a permanent solution, but I am thinking I might give it a try.

Go for it! I am terrified of the wrinkles... I know they are coming my way. Someone here said compression garments help with the ab skin as you are losing weight. Gonna have those things on as soon as I can. Can't hurt and maybe it will help...Wishing I could afford to have face lift and body lift.. LOL Wish they had those for your face...

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
